I love the sound of these. I’ve used them from time to time. My problem with these is they get dead much too quick.

I was looking for something to put on my new MIA J bass and wanted a flexible string, like a roundwound, but with more warmth, like a flat.
I’d read about how pure nickels could fit the bill so I bought three packs of these.
Well, long story short, these sound like heaven. There are all the harmonics and bark that a jazz can give but with the brightness (and finger noise, happily) dialled back a couple of notches. Although I mainly play with my fingers I have tried a plectrum and the sound can really cut through in a live band situation if needed.
The price of a set is extremely reasonable and I thoroughly recommend them.

Only got about 2 months of playing out of these, though sound was nice. Perhaps because they are so light they didn’t last the usual 3 months I am used to?

Over the years I’ve tried a bunch of strings on my Fender Jazz basses. DR, Ernie Ball, Elixir, Roto’s… I did a complete setup on my bases and decided to go with the original Fender strings. I forgot how good these things sounded. Price point is great compared to the others I mentioned, and once settled in they hold tuning pretty well, as I’ve been playing roughly 1 hour plus every night. I’m not gigging or in a studio environment, so I think they should last.

I love these strings. I have them on four basses. Just a great tone and easy on the fingers and frets.

First thing I noticed when I stringed my p bass with these strings is how smooth they feel to the hands. They have a mostly warm tone but once you pick by the bridge or slap the strings it helps bring out the high ends if you’re looking for a bright sounding music. Pick by the neck or the body and it sounds vintage if you’re looking for that. Excellent if you’re gonna do heavy metal due to the bite these strings have. Would recommend to anyone.

These strings are a lot less bright and twangy than most and perfect if you are going for a classic old school tone and are not ready for flats.
I have an overly bright 70’s jazz bass and these really helped in taming the high end sizzle and clack. Also at this price it wont cost you much to try them out or keep a fresh set on hand.
