This is really quite a deal given cardboard scratchers alone sell for this approx. $15 price, and you not only get the cardboard house, but the Furhaven Pet Cat Furniture box has punch-out holes l to convert it into hide-and-seek toy you can drop toys inside. The scratcher is a good size and my cats like it. The cardboard is sturdy but lightweight so it can easily be knocked over by active cats. It comes with some cardboard toy that can be slotted together and hung (comes with a cord to use to attach it) from the house so it can be batted about, but (see below about house) the toys has to be taped to stay together.
The negative is you connect the house with slots and tabs and my cats quickly knocked it over off the scratcher base because it doesn’t attach to the base, and the slots and tabs quickly came open. So after reassembling it a few times only to keep having it come apart, I finally reassembled the house and used sturdy packaging tape on the tabs to keep them in place after I bent them (they’re not scored) and folded them down.
But because the house is light-weight, it still gets knocked over by a 10 pound cat. So I set the house up without the scratcher inside and next to a wall and that seemed to work. If your cat likes scratchers it’s a good deal to get the house thrown in for the same price as a stand-alone scratcher along with being able to punch-out the precut holes in the outer box for hide & seek game (my younger kitty had fun trying to get at some small balls I dropped inside).

I have two kittens that I take with me to work 90% of the time. Once I set this up they both fell in love with it. It has been their most played with toy. Keep in mind it is just cardboard so its not super sturdy. However, it serves the purpose intended. Give the kittens a quiet place to hide and play in/sleep in and give them something to scratch on while we are at work.

Great house for cats! Our cat was excited to help us set up and couldn’t wait lol. I do wish it stayed together better. I just used tape to keep the sides in place but if your cat is a rough player they could pop the sides out of place. Also, the corrugated cardboard at the bottom is not attached to the house. The house is basic but that’s exactly what I wanted. So it’s perfect, easy to assemble, and safe for my rabbit to chew.
The thing is. My cat is in love with the busy box. I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to buy another just to keep the cat happy.

Excellent! My cat loved it immediately. He was very involved in the unboxing and assembly process. The packaging that the house comes in has punch out holes that make a great “busy box” toy. My cat won’t stop playing with it!
As for the gingerbread house that I bought: it’s super cute and has lots of great details! It’s a tiny bit small for my 3 year old rescue cat. (He bumps the top on his way in and out.) This might kind of be good because he feels more safe and snug inside!
There are so many extra surprises with this toy that I won’t ruin!
I’ll have to follow up later for sturdiness because I just assembled it and my cat is a wild boy.

This chintzy cardboard house is not worth $20 what-so-ever. The pieces are not sturdy at all and all it does is sit over the scratcher. You basically pay for a scratcher because the cats can easy and accidentally without much effort tap the sides of the thing and it comes apart. It seemed like a cool thing to get and have for them but way overpriced for what you get!

This was the CUTEST all put together. I was so excited for our two dwarf rabbits to have a little hidey hole that was cute. Unfortunately, it took them all of one hour to rip off both sides and floor. I knew they would chew it, as its cardboard, but I thought we’d get a month or so out of it. The cardboard is heavier than normal. It was easy to put together. Just disappointed that I put it together at 5 PM and by 6 PM, it was a roof and sheets of board in a line.

My bunny loves this little house. He has “redecorated” several windows already and loves to sleep inside. Unfortunately, there is nothing securing the top portion of the house to the base scratcher and it is easily separated with a push. It’s not a deal breaker by any means, just one more thing to clean up in his pen 2x a day. Well worth the price!
