This case is really well padded and strong, zips feel great and plenty of room for cables and pedals.

The Yamaha CP4 is an inch longer than this case is rated for, but because it’s not quite as deep as the case handles, it fits very snugly. It’s a little fiddly getting the last corner tucked in, but once in it zips up easily. This will be perfect for my occasional gigging, where I always carry my gear in my own car.

It’s not rigid, but holds its shape quite well, better than it seems from product photos. Not at all floppy like typical gig bags, but you can bend it if you need to. Good shoulder strap with metal buckles that look like they’ll hold up.

It comes with backpack shoulder straps, but they’re connected by a velcro loop with about 2 square inches of velcro. I’m hesitant to trust it with the 40-lb CP4. I did try it for a moment and it held, but …

It also comes with a rain cover, though that might be a nuisance to pull down over the top. I won’t need it for car-to-stage carries, but if I had to walk several blocks or more on a rainy day I’d use it for sure.

The pockets accommodate the CP4’s music rest, pedal, and my compact Real Book. Also has room for an 8×11 1/2″ notebook, with several internal pouches to help organize inside the big pocket.

Shell out just a little extra. This is the best gig bag I’ve ever seen. The fabric is so soft I wish I could sleep in it. The foam padding is very sturdy and protective also. It was a bit small for my DX7 at first, but after a bit of squeezing, it’s adjusted and molded to the keyboard quite nicely. Pockets are incredibly handy and the dust cover is a nice touch.

My only problem is the back-straps. Attaching these via Velcro is literally stupid. I’m carrying a 25 pound keyboard on my back and for whatever reason they think the velcro straps can support that kind of weight. Don’t use the backstraps your keyboard will undo the velcro and crash onto the floor and you’ll be very sad. Just use the over-the-shoulder strap or the handle, they’re way better and comfortable.

Very well constructed the inside is very plush and has 2 giant Velcro strap to hold the Keyboard in place, another large pocket the length of the case were you can store cables music sheets iPad etc this only had weight to the whole thing. and also a light weather proof cover that goes over the case, it has a strap so you can carry it on your back but my keyboard weights a ton so not practical for me I would’ve like to see wheels instead, the handle is large and seem strong . You can check their Web site for what make of keyboards fits so you don’t have to guess. Overall very happy with it good product.

I needed a light, sturdy, well-padded but not too heavy case for my Nord Piano 2 HA88. Now there is a cool bright red Nord soft case for this board, but it sells for about $500. Way too much. So here come the Gator folks with this new G-PG-88SLIM. Here are the notable features – 1. This case perfectly fits the Nord Piano 2 (50 3/4″ Lg). 2. It is luxuriously lined and padded on the inside (including the well-padded velcro adjustable straps) to softly cradle my lovely Nord. The side padding is a full 1″ thick and markedly firm to protect the board from inevitable bumps. 3. It features a very durable exterior of sturdy abrasion-resistant nylon that looks to be capable of surviving many scrapes during travel. 4. It includes zippered storage space with a flex net for my music folder and two attached velcro retainer straps for cables. There is also a nifty fleece-lined pocket to slide in an electronic tablet (7 1/2″ x 9 1/2 “). 5. It has a lightweight elastic-edged rain cover stored in its own zipper compartment should I exit a gig to a downpour. All the edges of this cover are nicely bound. 6. It includes several straps: a hook-on adjustable shoulder strap with a pad for your shoulder which works great for longer transport walks and two adjustable backpack straps which you can attach to the case to carry it on your back (very tricky should you lose your balance backwards!). 8. It weighs in at only 9 lbs. which with the 40 lb. Nord makes the bundle about as heavy as as I would ever want to carry for any distance. In addition all zippers/zipper pulls, exterior handles and lugs seem to be sturdily made and attached to take reasonable applied loads during normal use. Would this bag work for shipping my Nord as luggage? Nope – I’d want a lockable hard case for that. But for safely hauling the Nord to practices in my car and for the many weekend worship services that I play in it is absolutely perfect. The beautiful Nord . . . well protected. Job well done, Gator. You’ve earned my five stars on this one.

This bag is a perfect blend: it is solid and padded enough to really protect, while still light enough to easily carry. I’m very happy with it. Note: it comes with some detachable velcro straps to turn it into a “backpack” — just throw those away, they’re worthless. Then enjoy the excellent case that remains, which still has a good shoulder strap as well as nicely padded handles.

I wanted to also clarify what distinguishes this bag from its much cheaper cousin, the GKB-76 (also from Gator), because by the descriptions it was hard for me to see why this one cost so much more (I own both of these bags).

In short, the GKB-76 always left me worried, while this one I toss around with confidence. That’s because the GKB-76 has no skeletal structure, it is completely formless and crushable, while the Pro Go G-PG-76SLIM has a solid frame and walls that cannot be easily bent or crushed.

That’s the crux of the difference, but in addition this bag also has much thicker, stronger foam protection (the foam on this one feels dense like memory foam, while the GKB-76 feels more lightweight and cheap). And of course this one has more peripheral storage and a softer inner lining.

Then at the other end of the spectrum Gator has hard shell cases, and cases with wheels. Both of those features are not worth the added weight and bulk to me. This one feels entirely adequate for my needs, which only involves car travel (perhaps if I needed to fly and check in my synth in baggage then I’d opt for a heavier hard shell).

Finally, whether to get the “slim” model or the regular — I have a Nord Electro 5, I got the slim, I’m happy.

I was looking for a case for my UDO Audio Super 6 and tried the Gator TSA 49. Unfortunately, the Gator TSA 49 was too small. In comparison, the the soft case from Gator wraps the synth safely.
