A reader in Montana –
This gets my gore tex gear clean and I don’t think it leaves any residue. It doesn’t make my jacket smell like detergent, either.
Alicia Thomas –
I used this product followed by the wash in water repellent on my goretex rain gear and it worked great. The jacket looks brand new and water beads up and runs off it now.

Treating, washing, and drying your Gore-Tex products assures their on-going functional use. In fact, it is by washing and drying—drying specifically— that your Gore-Tex products are assured a long, water-proof life. I never knew that until recently when I read their info on their website. This is a great product to add to your wash, thereby treating it. I have a pair of Saucony pants that are Gore-Tex treated and they have lasted me for close to 40 years. Washing them and other Gore-Tex clothing will give them added protection.

Nice product. Good variety of sizes

Worked well with my Arcteryx Gore-Tex jacket. This will definitely last me quite a few washes. Not a big fan of the packaging, would have preferred the traditional bottle design for easier pouring but its not terrible by any means.

I had forgotten to air out my Nemo tent after a rainy day at the Grand Canyon and left it packed in a suitcase for a week. It smelled terrible.
This product cleaned the tent and removed all odors after soaking it in hot water for 30 minutes . The color of the dirty water was disgusting. Amazing product

This is a good product. It is very water repellent, and if you are able to dry the clothing or item in a dryer on medium it will last quite a while before wearing off.
One key to this or any other wash in is to wash your item, then rinse it a couple extra times. Then rinse it a couple more times. Not so much to rinse the item, but to flush any remaining detergent from the washing machine. Almost every washer in existence has some of the final rinse from the last load still there. If there is any detergent left behind, and isn’t removed from the item being treated it won’t work nearly as well. Detergents weaken the surface tension of water so it will pass through smaller pores than normal, and it also prevent this DWR (any every other) from sticking or bonding as well. I admit, 6 or more rinses might be a bit much though. My machine can do three so I usually just do that.
Also if you can adjust the water level keep it lower, and use the soak setting.
If the item can be dried in a dryer, do so at the highest the garment allows. It bonds better with the fabric and stays on longer before wearing or washing off. If you can’t do this, then it will work, just not as long. Maybe have to treat every year instead of every other depending on the item and how much you use it.

Works very well. I don’t want to send expensive technical gear (Gore Tex, rain clothing, etc) through the regular wash, nor do I want to dry clean them. I think either of those options shortens the useful life and degrades the material. But this stuff works extremely well. Stains and general dirt are gone, and the colors are unaffected. For the tiny cost of a bottle (And only a very small amount is needed in each wash load), I highly recommend this product for cleaning your expensive coats and other gear.

Use this stuff regularly to keep my lined motorcycle and hiking gear stank free. The stuff is a fairly strong surfactant without adding all the extra fluff regular detergent adds and clogs membranes with. Items come out of the wash with a very faint, but agreeable soap smell.
That said don’t expect it to remove big stains or marks. This stuff is a great maintenance cleaner.
DMSTEX Guy –
The old soiled jackets were very clean coming out of the washer. No perfumes or softeners to interfere with water-proof treatment. Much better than regular laundry detergent for treatment prep.

I bought this several months ago. I finally got a good day to clean my incredibly stinky tent. It’s a 35 year old REI Mountain Dome. A 4-season tent that has seen lots of use 30 to 10 years ago but then sat in a damp basement for years. I was gagging when I found the tent in a box. It smelled like rotten milk. I aired it out. That did not do much. So today I tossed the tent in the tub & added the Revivex. Most of the container went to wash the tent. It really stunk. After about 20 minutes in the tub with the luke warm water & Revivex, I thought the tent disappeared. I could not smell it any more. I then used the rest of the packet on the rain fly & stuff sacks. Again, 20 minutes later, no more gross smell. No smell actually. The tent is dry now, no damage from the cleaning & the coating is still intact. I will no longer be able to find my tent by how bad it smells now.
