They work well. You could say they have a slightly different timbre than the D’Addarios, but it’s nothing you’d ever notice without an A-B test.

These don’t seem to wear out more quickly or break more often, but they do occasionally have loose windings at the end of the string. They are a bit more cheaply made than the D’Addarios, but I’d encourage you to take a close look at your setup if they seem fragile.

I think it’s a toss-up between the two. For me, the D’Addarios are worth it for a few extra dollars. Despite performing no better than the Boomers in my experience, they are visibly neater and just make me feel better about the restring.

The strings were fine, but the high e started to go flat after bending the string. Then as I adjusted the tuners toward the bridge of my steinberger it got to the point where I couldn’t increase the tension any more, leaving the string flat. I luckily bought 2 pairs and the exact same thing happened to the other one. After taking it out, I realized that the winding on the string had started to loosen and decreasing the tension the more it slid back. Maybe just stick with other strings or get a pice that converts headless to a locking nut.

When your double ball end strings come unwound they won’t tune. Have reached out to GHS twice and nothing but crickets! Their quality didn’t used to be like this, alas GHS has now become my least favorite string. It’s not like errors don’t happen, just acknowledge, make it right and move forward. Will be buying strings for all 7 of my guitars from another manufacturer going forward. Have also advised all of my friends in the business to avoid them like the plague. Particularly my luthier friends. They don’t need the headaches…

I like the tone and feel of these on my Steinberger spirit gt pro, but the high E keeps unwinding after a few sessions. Haven actual broke a strong or felt they were dead and needing change, the ball at the bridge just fails on my lightest string. Didn’t happen withe stock Steinberger strings it came witj. Going to try other brands and a see if this is a light gauge double ball issue in general or a GHS quality issue.

Like others have mentioned. The strings start to untwist at the balls after a few days of playing. My E B and G strings gave loosened so much I can’t even to them to standard

I gave these strings a second try, after disastrous tuning and intonation problems with some other sets that I bought. Same random tuning and intonation problems, and then the high E unravelled at the ends in the middle of a show. Twice.

Great value set of double ball end strings and seem to be holding up well on my Hohner G3T. Will be buying again.
