This is not a potent wheel cleaner and I bought it knowing that. It will not remove baked on brake dust. I wanted a maintenance wheel cleaner to use once a week on my wheels that are already in excellent condition. It’s pH balanced and is safe on ALL wheel types. That was important to me. This wheel cleaner does a great job for the reasons I bought it for.

My STI creates a ton of brake dust. I have tried many products. Some work really well and donโt require much brushing, but those cleaners are generally the ones that stain the wheel coating and make the car smell like rotten eggs for days.
Decided to try this one since is BBS approved. Yes, it does require brushing, but the dust falls right off. Iโm not having to scrub it off. No stains on the dark gray wheels either. Best of all, has a nice light fruity scent

Griots rarely disappoints on anything they sell. This wheel cleaner is no exception. Many wheel cleaners claim you simply spray them on and rinse after a couple of minutes with no scrubbing/agitation necessary. I have yet to find ANY product out there that lives up to that claim and Iโve been auto detailing for 25 years. They all seem to require some scrubbing for best results. Griots also requires scrubbing but what I like about this product is that wheel manufacturer BBS gives it their approval. That speaks volumes!!!! Getting the nod from BBS is a big deal.

Donโt let it dry. Works really well on wheels. Have not ever had issues with my painted finish on wheels using this spray. Doesnโt smell great but thatโs ok.

I bought this based on Griot’s “rep” but was disappointed. It works, dont get me wrong, but its not as effective as Adams Wheel Cleaner (Not Adams Wheel AND Tire cleaner). It cleans, but the power of the cleaner is just mediocre. Back in the day i used a german brand… Sonax, thats it, which was top notch. Adams is also tops. But you get a lot of volume for the money, and it does work… eventually, with lots of brushing with a nice boars hair brush.

This cleaner does the work for you, and it has a nice smell to it. I sprayed it on a truck with 6 months of baked on brake dust on alloy wheels. With a light (very light) scrub from a brush and a rinse with the garden hose, it all came off. I purchased the foaming nozzle to go with it. Also, it’s made in the USA.

If your wheels are dirty expect them to still be dirty after you scrub your wheels using this stuff. I had to use a scotchbrite pad with it to clean semi dirty wheels. Disappointing.
