***Disclaimer: Not a drummer***
I’m a MIDI hack type. I’ve owned Alesis rack mount drum voices which can be triggered by MIDI pedals and/or keyboards. I have a single pad which can trigger MIDI voices. That’s my limited background.
I was (easily) impressed by this set. It seems to be well made and is quite complete — even with a complete sound module with some capable sounds in it. True, some of the attachment components are plastic and might break, but overall it’s pretty good at this price.
In a traditional single family home, it will be plenty quiet, though some clunking sounds will bleed into adjacent rooms. As has been pointed out elsewhere, it’s not fully silent (I’m not sure that is possible and still get a decent “feel”).
Suggestions to manufacturer:
1. A version without the sound module would be cheaper, and I would have tried that with my Alesis gear first.
2. I’d like to see this configuration paired with a good YouTube percussion instruction offering.
3. Packaging as shipped was excellent, but as professional drummers will attest, packaging the kit for storage or gigging is nontrivial. The engineers that worked on the as-shipped packaging are probably perfect for that.

I’ve played drums for probably 20 years now, and I was very excited to set this kit up because it’s been a while since I had my own set.
Installation wasn’t too terrible and took me about an hour or so. Most of the parts are labeled (which helped), but the instructions could benefit from a rewrite. A few of the parts like the metal bars are not labeled so you have to stare at the picture for a while until it clicks.
The problem is that the instructions cover several variations of this kit, so you have Step 4 with one variation and then Step 5 with another, to the extent that I was sure more than once that I was missing some parts. It would seem fairly simple if they could throw a unique manual per variation into the box, or at least better organize the instructions. “Step 1” is also just a picture of the entire frame put together, so if you’re one who likes detailed step-by-step instructions, you might not enjoy this part.
That said, once it is set up, this really is a nice set for the price and for the lower-end category that it falls into. Let’s look at each of the drums and cymbals on this kit and compare their pros and cons.
1. Snare: the snare and toms are the exact same drum, just plugged into a different port. I will say that the mesh-type material on the surface feels very nice, and the rim shots work very well. Though it would be nice to have a slightly bigger snare, it is totally usable.
2. Toms: I like having a mesh tom as opposed to those rubber-type ones. I’ve never really liked those because they don’t feel like drums. These feel good and also support rim shots like the snare. Very nice!
3. Cymbals: these are responsive with a level of sensitivity detection that feels pretty good. It will never compare to an actual metal cymbal, but I think they are quite decent. And yes, the instant choke works! You have to squeeze it on the edge of the cymbal. This is a nice touch for a kit this price.
4. High-hat: this is probably my least favorite part of the kit. The pedal is disconnected from the actual high-hat so it is purely digital. It works ok but seems to lack a good “halfway” point between open and closed. Of course, this is also not going to be like a real one at this price point, but it does make me miss that capability, and of course the wood-on-metal feel of a real high-hat is missed. It does have the instant choke like the other cymbals, and I like that after you choke it there’s still a faint sound just like would happen in a real high-hat due to the two parts rubbing against each other.
5. Kick: the pedal and the kick itself are very nice and responsive on this set. I do need to find a good way to anchor this thing down on carpet. It has a couple of thumb screws that can kind of dig into the carpet, but it doesn’t quite do it. Perhaps a heavy book will take care of it!
6. Stool: it’s nice to get a stool with the kit. Though it is fairly basic and has to be taken apart to change the height, it works well and feels comfortable enough.
7. Module: the kit selection is not massive but I was fairly impressed with the sound at this price point. They cover the typical range of kits you would expect and the kicks and snares sound really good. The “songs” are a bit cheesy, but I don’t typically use the built in music in these things anyways. There are a good range of ports on this module that should allow you to do what you need to do. It’s nice that it comes with a pair of headphones as well, which I was not expecting!
In the end, this is a low-priced set that is also marketed as a kid’s drum set. Based on those criteria, I’d say this is a very good deal for your money and will probably be hard (and easy *wink* *wink*) to beat!

Very nice set of drums. Very quiet. It has everything you need to get started playing. Setup wasn’t bad. You just have to understand the instructions. Overall, it’s a good set.

I live in an apartment building and didn’t want to disturb neighbors playing drums so I got this set, since they state they’re quiet.
The drums are OK but the symbols are thick, hard plastic and make alot of noise when striking them, especially the high hat. Also the “floor” Tom makes alot of vibration on the floor when striking it.
So although they ARE more quiet than tradition drums, your neighbors will still be disturbed by the noise.
Also, one of the drum attachments snapped when I tightened it to the frame. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN BECAUSE THE PLASTIC WILL BREAK.
I’ve never played any other electric drums so I have nothing to compare this set to. But if I could do it again, I’d just choose a less expensive set. I don’t see the value in these for the price compared to other less expensive sets.

We got the sun set. Set it up. It worked great. After a few weeks it stopped working. After sending the seller a message he promptly sent a replacement part to fix the drum set.
