I’ve been using my old 4th gen i5 4690k for almost a decade, paired with a GTX 960 and then an RTX 3060 it was capable of mid-high settings for games like Arma 3, Dying Light, DayZ, 7DTD. Following some driver issues, I decided to put together a new pc with new i5 12600k and MSI MAG b660.

While I have only good things to say about the 4690k, my new i5 12600k completely blows it out of the water. With an RTX 3060 @ 1440p I can run pretty much anything close to, if not completely maxed out. Solidworks and Adobe CC apps have no problems, large Visual Studio projects open and run like butter. I currently run it with a Noctua NH-U12S and have had no issues with cooling. For $190 this is a steal.

The media could not be loaded.

Me gustó mucho.

Good performing chip on my secondary Z690 system. Performance is as expected. This is a nice I5 12600k which performs better than some of the 13th gen I5s at a better price. Works on wither Z690 or Z790 Motherboards.

Was really happy with this purchase. I had issues with a 5900x mother/cpu failing somewhere. This cpu runs the same performance (gaming wise) as the 5900x if not a tad bit faster and slower in certain games. Generally the same. Example Valorant on ryzen is 300-400 on this is 280-375 and mw2 on ryzen 230, on intel is 215 so not a huge drop and the cpu latency is MUCH more stable and low on this intel, compared to ryzen. Good fps and good speeds

It is really a good CPU for me.
I can try overclocking with a cheaper price and lower pressure for CPU cooler.
Some how, it is beautiful and cute.

12600K is faster comparing to my 3900X(same on 3200Mhz, 8GB x4), more snappy when switching charts. Intel graphics driver doesn’t support multi monitors well in Windows 10, seems to be okay in Windows 11. it cannot remember monitor relative postion when resume from sleep. no other issues found.

Just got it for my NZXT gaming PC custom build & seems to work great. Install was easy & doesn’t have the annoying fragile socket pins older CPUs used to have. You just place it on the socket close the bracket install your cooler & it should be good to go. I seem to have very good frame rate stability & seems to be able to handle most games even without a GPU. If a game used to be on console it’ll likely work with this CPU & perform better than gaming console CPUs. I used to use a basic mini PC with an older i7 6700T but with this in my gaming PC is have next to no issue running HD graphics in games like GTA 5. And its amazing for the price. Was going to go with an i7 13700K this ended up costing half the price of the i7 & an i7 may be a bit overkill for most of the games I plan on playing on my PC anyway. Only downside is the newer Intel graphics settings apps suck.
