Back cover wont seat properly with this installed. Also, requires removal of factory ESD foil and can potentially cause wifi interference. Also these are low wattage SSDs and so you’re trying to solve a problem that doesn’t exist.

Easy to install and there’s plenty of clearance. Baffles me that people want to use the foil heatstink and double wrap it. There’s no need for that the phase change material will melt further and the thermal pad holds the heatsink to the nvme. Buy and use with confidence I plan on using one for my Asus Ally nvme as well.

Fit perfectly in the steam deck. Thermal pads felt like they were really good quality.
OEM foil sleeve needs to be opened to fit, but it does fit easily. I ended up cutting the sleeve along the existing perforations and only using it under the drive. Copper should shield from anything that may affect Wi-Fi. Tested Wi-Fi before and after in different areas of my home and there was zero difference. Included pics of both setups (with full sleeve, and half sleeve).

Works well for replacement/upgraded SSD’s that do not come with any thermal protection. I did not notice any WiFi degradation or fitment problems as experienced by the other reviewer.

SSD are known to run hot. Copper is a much better heat sink than an aluminum wrap. Although without added ventilation it might not really matter. However I plan to upgrade cooling for when running on a dock, so this probably will be beneficial for me in the long run.
(Copper would work better as an rf shield if that was needed, but ssd do not emit a lot of rf so that probably isn’t important.)
