no chemical smell. rows of soft cotton rope are even and well-stitched together. edges well-finished. bottom is not rope, is a very heavy felt?/wool? blend material with a removable sherpa-type cover. my kitty loved the fabric bottom the best and began kneading it. she then lay down and rested her chin on the edge of the bed, looking around. bed looks nice and not too big, fit right in. kitty is 9 lbs and is curled up in it with enough room for a nice stretch. would buy again, would give as a gift.

Un tamaño perfecto para tenerla en mi escritorio. Ya que a mi gata le gusta estar donde yo estoy ( normalmente la computadora) fue una cama excepcional para evitar que se acostara en mi teclado. No le gustó el colchinsito plastificado/borregado que tiene, una vez quitandoselo ( no está sujeto a nada) se metió a la cama sin problema.

This cat bed looks nice so it can sit in the open. I was happy to see the enclosed bag of catnip since my cat was hesitant to get too close to it until I lured him over with the catnip and then sprinkled a little on the pillow inside. The pillow is somewhat thin but serviceable. I will have to replace it because I’m a bit leery of washing it (thin cover and not much filling). The exterior has a nice braided rug look and it’s not rigid but not floppy either. All in all, good buy for the price. My cat spends a lot of time in there on the shelf by the window, so I’m happy with it.

This is very nice quality, well made, and cute. The price is great. However, I don’t recommend it for a large cat because it’s just not very big. It is flexible and can stretch out a bit. I have a large cat. The first thing he did was grab the little cushion and attacked it and removed it from the basket. It’s actually a very small cushion. He likes the bed primarily as a neck scratcher. He did get in it, he barely fit and his tail hung out of it. I just got it so hard to tell if he will use it but he did get in it. It takes him a while to warm up to things. The one I got has a felt bottom. If you have a large cat, get a bigger bed.
