This is a really nice looking kettle that boils water quickly and has a deep spout that doesn’t dribble down the sides. We like that the lid comes all the way off for easy filling rather than simply flipping up. The temperature gauge is also a nice touch, for more delicate teas that require water to be below boiling. The switch lights up when the kettle is on. There is one minor issue— the gauge is on crooked. This doesn’t affect its performance, since it’s just a metal probe like a meat thermometer, but it is a cosmetic issue. It’s attached with a nut, and in theory I could just unscrew it a little and straighten the thermometer, but it is on there tight enough to require a wrench, so I don’t want to risk deforming or denting the kettle just to fix the look. A little extra QC would’ve gone a long way.

The Koios electric kettle does a really nice job of heating water really quickly, and it looks good doing it. If you’re not familiar with this kind of thing, it’s a way to boil water very quickly and efficiently, much faster than in the microwave or on the cooktop. It’s great for any time you need hot water.
The kettle is somewhat larger than I’d expected; not a bad thing at all. It also has that mid-century vibe that looks good just about anywhere. I don’t pay much attention to the built-in thermometer; I just wait until the on-off switch clicks off, knowing the water is extremely hot at that point.
I especially like this kettle for travel purposes, when you drive someplace and stay in a hotel. That way, you can have hot water for a range of products, including making coffee in a French press…far better than the pretty awful coffee in hotel rooms. The kettle doesn’t take up that much room, but gives you far better options than trying to microwave water.
The overall design is similar to that of other electric kettles I’ve used, apart from the built-in thermometer (which, as I noted, I don’t use). I like that its electric source is built into the separate base, and that the cord can be wrapped into this base when not in use. The kettle’s overall ergonomics are good, too; it always feels balanced when in use, the lid snaps down effectively, and it generally feels solid in all ways. As I noted, I also like its look a lot, too.
The only downside I see is that the price point is pretty high. You can get an electric kettle that works fine for about twenty to forty bucks, so I think the aesthetic dimension of the Koios product would have to be important to you to pay the difference.
In all, this Koios electric kettle is a good product that I anticipate will get a lot of use at our home and while traveling. The main qualifier is whether the price point of about seventy-seven bucks would thwart your interest in purchasing it. Good product.

I was in need of a new tea kettle, so when this one came up, I got it right away.
As far as the looks go, it looks exactly like the picture. It is reasonably nice and looks good in the kitchen. Nothing looks or feels low quality.
Functionally, it’s fine. It heats up water pretty quickly.
My primary issue is, it’s not good if you just want to boil enough water for a single cup of tea. When you heat the water, the temp gauge is off by around 50 degrees Fahrenheit. My guess is this is caused by the positioning of the gauge, but I’m not certain.
When I heat water in the morning, it gets so hot that I have to wait around 20 minutes to drink it. This means it is getting too hot for my tea as well and causes a bitter flavor.
If you are looking for a teapot that is good for several cups of tea or if you are brewing more than a cup at a time, this probably will work for you. If not, I would look elsewhere.

This gets high ratings on style alone – it’s quite a nice simulation of a retro design at a decent price.
It’s a large capacity kettle as electric kettles go – so this is a great choice if you may be sharing hot water with others – or hosting guests.
I filled the kettle totally and it heated to 212 f (the recommended temperature for most black teas) in a little under 8 minutes – at a 1.8 liter capacity that’s fast! The auto shut-off is very handy – great safety feature for peace of mind if you aren’t the type to stand by watching it heat up – I’m too busy in the morning and really like this feature.
Anyone looking for additional features should be aware of the following:
-There is a thermometer on the face of the kettle which allows you to see how far along the water is from 212 f – however – no other temperatures can be set. This may not matter if you just want to steep standard black teas- however anyone like me who wants to brew other teas or beverages at the recommended temperatures will have to watch the thermometer- which isn’t my thing! I often want to steep white or green teas – and using water at 212 f will make them bitter – it’s really not worth buying these teas if you’re not going to steep them at the recommended temperature and time how long they steep.
– I tried to shut off the kettle when I saw the thermometer had reached 88 degrees (recommended for one of my more delicate white teas) and it was easy to do – the shut off lever is prominently placed – but anyone who wants to steep teas at different temperatures would do well to invest in a kettle that will allow you to set the desired temperature and have it shut off when it’s reached – better yet – some pricier kettles will hold the temperature you set as well. (I was gifted one with these features and I absolutely love it!)
-If you aren’t fussy about temperature and just want to know how long you may have to wait for 212 f – you may find the thermometer fun!
All in all – this is a functional stylish kettle at a good price point- and so, a nice value.

I ordered one more for my seasonal home.
Works easily and well.
It shows the temperature very well.
The best part is the light weight!
