Truck is four years old. 40k miles. Still has original D3 brake fluid it measured 1.2 and color is still good definitely going to save money, by not doing unnecessarily brake fluid changes based On the age Of the fluid.

The item was immediately defective. I tested old brake fluid. It turned red saying replace. I cleaned those with paper towel then put in new brake fluid. It said new fluid was red or bad. Cleaned tips 3 times. Still tested new fluid as bad or red. Would be green the flip to red. Obviously a defective tester right out of the box. Great concept and like the color code lights and alarm, but it’s accuracy is horrible.

Confession.. this is an area of car maintenance I have always neglected until lately. Decided to purchase when the dealership kept telling me my year-old car needed a $199 brake fluid flush. Checked tester on brand new bottle of dot3 and confirmed 0% reading. Tested cars fluid at 1.4%; passing. So helped me keep the dealership honest. Tested my two other 10+ year old cars (never flushed), found borderline failing, so found vids on how to DIY. This is a handy little tester. Seems accurate though can’t verify 100% without a standard solution. Can be trickier to use on some smaller-curved reservoirs Due to diameter. Would recommend.

This tester works as advertised. Put the probes in the brake fluid, pushed the button and it indicated the percentage of brake fluid to water. Very simple and handy. This tester does not test all types of brake fluid so make sure that it will work for your application.

I bought this product for its ease of use and ability to test multiple DOT brake fluid types. It came well packaged and, after putting in the included batteries worked well. The use of it is very intuitive but as usual for these relatively inexpensive tools, the instructions are mediocre. All in all I’m very pleased with the tool and it can remain in my electronic tool inventory!

It’s ideal tool to explain whether you need to spend your money on a brake fluid change, coat £15 and saved me a £90 fluid change.
the only reason you change brake fluid oils is either particle contamination, which cannot happen in most cars under 7 years old, or water moisture absorption which builds up over time. so this device tells you the specific percentage moisture level with enough accuracy to be meaningful. Great way to make decisions and save money with risking any safety issues

Je viens de faire un essai dans mon bol d’alimentation des freins (et embrayage ) . Aucun soucis (1.3 % ) d’humidité . en DOT 4 . Le stylo autorise trois types de liquides de frein ;appuyer sur la touche bleue ,après avoir allumer le stylo (touche rouge ) Suivant le pourcentage d’humidité ça allume en rouge, en jaune, ou en vert ; En rouge aller vite changer le liquide et purger ; en jaune -attention ,à surveiller ; en vert -pas de problème particulier ! Très bien fait , fonctionne vraiment bien .
J’ai fais des essais sur un sopalin humidifié et le stylo a marqué plus de 4% en rouge !! excellant produit .
