I was curious to how a spruce guitar would sound so I got this one (Romida.)
I already had a cedar Kremona guitar and I loved it so I stuck with the company. That said, they did not disappoint.
The materials used are very good and the stylistic design choice make this guitar beautiful. And it doesn’t stop at the looks of it. The sound is very crisp and it is a whole different experience compared to cedar. (Cedar vs Spruce? I like both equally. Both have very desirable and unique traits.)
You really can’t go wrong with this guitar. You can tell they put effort into these instruments and I highly appreciate that.

Beautiful sounding guitar. Deep, resonating tonality. When I get a piece played right, the guitar makes it sound much better than my playing ability.
Craftmanship is high on the guitar High gloss finish and detailed inlay work on the back and bridge are well done. I also find the gold filigree on the tuning peg plate gives a nice detail. And while its well constructed, its also light. When you’re playing for several hours, a really heavy guitar weighs on you. The Romida has the right balance between construction heaviness for longevity and lightness for ergonomic ease of playing,
In the end though, with a classical guitar its all about the sound, and this guitar just sounds right. It has the rounded tone edges you expect from a decent classical guitar, along with a positive brightness on tremolos. And it has very little, if any, string slap on base note plucks. I’ve demo’d other classical guitars from local San Francisco Bay luthiers, and the Romida stands up sound wise to much more expensive custom guitars!

This is my first spruce top guitar, and I can tell the sound differance between the guitars.
The smell of the guitar takes me back to when I used to work in a boat building shop…I love it.
I allready have a emotional relationship with this guitar.

I read many of the reviews of this very nicely made guitar, before purchasing it. My first guitar was a beginner one that cost $30 from a garage sale when I was in college. Now it is 30 years later and I began taking Classical Guitar lessons a year ago. When this beautiful guitar arrived, it was in a beautiful black hard cover case. (not the brown case in the picture) I was first afraid of the beauty of it. I was very gentle and careful. It’s hard to believe that own it. I noticed the strings (being medium tension) were a little harder to push than my cheap beginner guitar. But now it has been a little over a week and it feels normal.
As I play, I hear a nice “ring” in the sound. It feels very solid and strong. After using these strings for a few months, I will replace the medium tension with EJ46 hard tension strings, as suggested in another review. (also agreed upon by my guitar teacher) My teacher said this is a very well made guitar and she’s very impressed with it. She’s been playing for 25 years. She said the beautiful new wood smell should remain for a long time.
The directions tell me to keep it in the hard case, but I want to look at the beauty of it! When I sit in my office I have it out, then I put it in the hard case to preserve it better than the normal air when I leave. There is one fret dot on the 7th fret. My beginner guitar had one on the 5th fret also. It’s taking time getting used to a “non-beginner” guitar. When I saw the picture online, I fell in love with it. When it arrived, it is exactly as the picture displays it. It is magnificent. I tried to add a picture, but it won’t accept it 🙁 Maybe it will let me add it later….

I had very high expectations for this guitar. Bought it in lefty.
Where it fell short for me was intonation.
I probably could have fixed it by dialing in the action a bit better and messing with the saddle a bit. compensating a bit here and there.
Not a very loud guitar, but fairly complex and balanced echo-ey sound. I ended up shipping it back after playing it for an hour or so.
The action at the nut was a tiny bit high. The neck had a very slight backbow, I would have preferred a very slight relief. Not sure what type of strings it came with, but fairly certain these are not fluorocarbon highs. The guitar (the intonation and volume) would benefit from a good set of
carbon strings. E.g.: Galli Carbonios are pretty inexpensive and make a huge diff for intonation. I would prefer to have an ebony or graphite reinforcement skunk strip in the neck, since there is no trussrod. It was a borderline keeper. I probably could have dialed it in for my liking but only had 3 days to make up my mind if I wanted to keep it, So ultimately I ended up not taking the chance. If it had shown just a bit more promise, I would have probably kept and fixed it.

I’ve been using the same guitar for over thirty years, it has been an good practise guitar but I’ve never had any a illusions about it being more than it is and have intended to upgrade for a long time. In my search I tried out every classical guitar available in all the local guitar shops and after an exhaustive search came away with a clear winners and each of them were Kremona’s. I didn’t have much insight into Kremona as a brand so I researched them some more and was found overwhelmingly positive reviews, during that search I repeatedly came across especially positive reviews for this particular model.
Due to the tonal differences between cedar and spruce it may not be a fair direct comparison with the cedar Kremonas I “test drove”, but this guitar does have a much richer, fuller sound then anything I had tried. Actually the tonality of this guitar is remarkable at this price point, easily matching that of guitars at twice to 5 times the amount.
I’m not usually one to purchase sight unseen, but if you are entertaining the purchase of a guitar at this price range I would encourage you to at least test play this guitar or one of Kremona’s cedar variants.
