I bought these to try on my new martin, it has a sepele top instead of the traditional spruce and has a very different sound, it doesn’t have that distinct martin high end. These strings work great on it, seem to have a more even distinction between lows and highs. They feel great as to playability, only time will tell if they last as long as the SP lifespans

I always used pb strings on my Martin 000-18 md. I’ve heard a lot of good feedback about these Kovar strings. So, I decided to give these a try. I like the dry sweetness it adds to my Martin’s tone, however, these lack the clarity and punchiness of phosphor bronze strings. I think I’ll be going back to pb strings

I’m a very well known harsh strummer on the acoustic, I’ve broken strings on stage like no tomorrow. I’ve had my instrument adjusted to prevent breakage but every luthier says it’s my style of playing that’s hard on the strings. I’ve been using Martin’s for a half a year now, and I tell ya these strings don’t break. They sound amazing, clear, bright, and are easy to strum. I highly recommend these!

I have always used Martin strings con all my guitars but this the first time I have used the Luxe type and I am very pleased at this point with their sound. If they have a decent life span I will most definitely use them again and I do recommend you give them a try.

I had already put some extra lights on my Martin 000-16 Streetmaster and they didn’t seem to make too much difference, but seemed slightly easier to play bar chords. However, these (lights) made a huge improvement on my Gibson J-15. The low E string and A string always sounded muffled with any strings I tried. This guitar is heavier and maybe more sturdier built. I didn’t want mediums because they’re too hard for me to play. It now sounds better than when I bought it new. Originally, I had decided to try them on my Gibson more to see if it would be easier for me to do bar chords, because the strings I had on them, were just too stiff. My Gibson will now see a lot more playing time and I’m going to stick with these strings from now on.

These sound excellent and are silver like electric guitar strings, they are actually designed for acoustic guitars that can plug into a acoustic guitar amp and should sound better than regular strings through the amp

The strings are of premium quality. However, it is too bright and the lows are almost non-existant. It gives a metallic sound with high mids and highs. It somehoe doesn’t generate the sweet sound of an acoustic guitar. Personally, I won’t buy it again.

I transitioned to these from Elixir nanoweb coated phosphor bronze, which I’d been using for, I dunno, at least a decade. When I learned these came out, I had to try them. I use monel strings on my mandolin and these are like monels but new? Gotta try the new thing, so I did.
Martin hit it out of the park with these. My guitar has never sounded so good! They are darker in tone, but with overtones that give a depth and warmth that is just… wow, especially after breaking them in for a bit. I don’t have adequate words to explain it, you just have to hear them.
Tone and string preference are, of course, highly personal choices. YMMV.

Bought two sets of these. One set sounds fine on an OM I recently built, but the low E string on the second set went completely dead almost immediately on my favorite dreadnought. I have never seen this happen before with any strings from any manufacturer. I have been very happy with other strings from Martin, but there’s a problem with QC on these Luxe strings.
