  1. FuzNuz Horse Equipment

This was a necessity while getting a new reptile. The dome is very deep, allowing room for larger light bulbs. Both sides are operated by their own individual switch. Super convenient and easy to use. No instructions necessary as it is straightforward.

This is a very well-made light fixture. Make sure that you assemble the two parts correctly. If you push them together the wrong way, they get stuck and are difficult to separate. It has two light bulb receptacles, and each has a separate cord and switch. Inside is reflective and outside matte black. It is very good if you need a directed light source that will not dissipate radiation in other directions. It is intended for use in reptile terrariums with UVA and UVB lamps. UVA is aging UV radiation and UVB is burning UV radiation. Make sure that you use correct light bulbs for the purpose. Do not use UVC lamps in it and don’t expose anything other than reptiles to UVA and UVB lamps. The price is reasonable.

I had a heat bulb fuse to the inside of my old double bulb hood which is why I needed a new one. This one comes in two pieces and directions plus an information sheet on how to use it. The two pieces click together with a bit of strength which is good because I know it won’t fall apart later. It’s compatible with my typical heat and UVB bulbs. As you can see it’s quite a bit bigger than my old hood but that’s okay. It fits on my lamp stand and plugs easily into my timers. My tortoise will appreciate getting the old heat lamp off the top of her cage and going back to a familiar set up. Works great and hasn’t shorted out with both lights on and plugged in.

This review is for the Reptile Dual Light Fixture, Reptile Heat Lamp Fixture with Separate Switches Fit for UVB Bulb Basking Heat Bulb for Reptile Glass Terrariums.

So once again here I go with getting an item and I will not be using it for it’s intended purpose, I’m notorious for this kind of think outside the box thing LOL.

So I’ll be using this as a light fixture to put nice bright LED lamp bulbs in for my use, I have a floor stand with a nice long articulating adjustable arm that I can adjust the height too, so will be useful when I need more light for reading a book, knitting/crocheting… This has a hook already so perfect for my stand and the stand is actually made to hang a “reptile heating” lamp on, and I like it can take 2 bulbs and they each have separate switch! I can use 1 light or 2 when I need more light!

The outside is black just like the stand so will blend well, and the inside is shiny so will be reflective and project more light! Now this could also be used for a heat lamp to keep chicks warm or puppies… I’m very happy with it for my purposes!

A word of caution, this will get hot! Years ago I had a dome heat lamp with a heavy duty spring metal clamping device built into it that I was using to warm one area of a newborn puppy whelping pen in the house. The pups can choose where they’re comfortable, either under the light or out from under it… somehow the lamp ended up on the floor of the whelping pen and caught some of the newspapers on fire! I was asleep right in the living room just outside the whelping room, thankfully in a no uncertain terms kinda way big mama dog got in my face and barked very loudly to wake me up… she ran back into the whelping room before I was even fully awake and grabbed a pup from the pen and ran into the hallway where she dropped it and ran back in to grab another pup. As soon as I smelled the smoke I was instantly awake and jumped into action with her! I grabbed the plug from the wall as I grabbed pups and put them into my shirt pulled up to make a pouch to get them away. Luckily I had a gallon of water sitting there to refill my gals water bowl and I grabbed it and poured it onto the papers and put the fire out! I still have no idea how the clamp failed and allowed the light to fall. So please be careful and securely mount the light somehow so it can’t fall down onto anything that might combust! I had used that heat lamp for years and never had an issue with it until then!

For the regular price $25.99 per the listing for this double bulb hangable light setup is a good price, and there is a 5% off coupon right now. Many other similar items here on amazon are higher priced or almost as much for a single fixture.

As always I only do honest reviews and will update if needed. I hope this helps you make the best choices how to spend your $.

When I was sitting up my tank for my python, I want getting enough heat for her about 76-80 degrees, this isnt enough. Someone suggested this to me, a double hooded heat lamp housing. So, of course I had to try it. What a difference. She is now getting the right temperature in her tank. She comes out more and moves around. I have 2 black heat lamps inside of the hood. And her temp is now staying at a nice 87-89 degrees for the hot side of her tank. And about 78- 82 for the cool.
Iig someone asked me about it. I would tell them to try it as well. Great price, worth trying. Fast shipping as well.

I have a variety of these dual lamp housings, all of which I have setup with a heat lamp and a ceramic heat emitter for a day / night cycle. One of the great benefits of this one is that it has separate plugs for each lamp, which means that they can be put on independent timers for full automation. It’s a little more compact than some of the others, which makes it a pretty tight fit for some of the larger bulbs, and thus I put it on this travel stand because it packs up a little smaller than others. It’s also quite light weight and has a nice secure central holder that clips easily onto a stand.
