After hearing about the Snapdragon machines, and seeing all the youtube videos, I finally picked this surface laptop. The main choices were between Lenovo Yoga and Surface. But the yoga only has usb-c ports and a shorter battery life due to the (but amazing) OLED display. The missing headphone jack was the deal breaker for me.
The SSD is easily upgradeable. so go for the cheaper 256gb and upgrade to the 1TB yourself (see the youtube videos). I also got the ugreen 12 function usb-c dock (Which is also a amazing product), so i can use all my older peripherals with it.
Coming to the laptop itself, use it mainly for home/entertainment uses, mostly videos and web browsing, and light programming. WSL is supposed to supported, but i havent tried that yet. The 1.5 aspect ratio of the display, also gives a lot of real estate for programming, and browsing, and is much more usable than the traditional widescreen windows laptops.
I haven’t heard the fan in my almost 2 weeks of usage. machine stays cool on my lap. Booting and running multiple windows etc, is all quite snappy. Unlike the intel machines where you need to charge after 4-5 hours of usage, I only charge this machine once in maybe 2-3 days, and still get about 4 hours of usage every day.

The windows experience is so much refined. I would not say it beats macbook but it has it own position in the market.
Points :
a. Well built – Copied Mac on the keyboard quality, Haptic touch pad, screen to bezel ratio, overall feel and texture of the laptop feels that you wanna have it and bring it everytime for your every day use. I am happy Microsoft took cues from Apple on this. No harm on it.
b. Software – This section Microsoft is leap and bound ahead of Mac os. They have kept all the good things and worked on all the problems and with Satya N CEO he made this amazing. Absolutely no bugs.
AI is just starting. It will further integrate in all of tools. Edge have killed Chrome. No way Google can compete with Microsoft on this.
c. During 5k Monitor connected and single screen the laptop gets somewhat warm. May be its first gen Snapdragon. I have no compliants. Thats where Mac shines. the raw power of processing is still awesome in Mac M series chip. But their software still lacks.
d. I still kept this Windows PC to experience the pc as is and love the Windows implementation.
e. True tone display on Mac is implemented as Auto adjustment in display – Most of time i get like a book like screen first i felt different then realized that is the best to continue on laptop without fatigue in eye. Kudos to Microsoft.
This laptop is going to be a hit in market. I choose this over various windows pc because Microsofts surface is the only laptop in windows that worked on close attention to detail that is very common in Apple ecosystem.
will i replace Mac to move to Windows – Absolutely no – Because Apple is more than one product – it is an ecosystem of products. so i still gonna keep both to enjoy both platforms.
Amazon as always is the place i buy – With prime and to the doorstep what more you can ask for !

I purchased a brand new Microsoft Surface Laptop through this company AntOnline. At first, the laptop functioned well. I purchased the laptop and it was delivered 8/28/2024 today is 9/11/2024. I have experienced a number of issues with this laptop. Most recently, in class, I received a grey screen out of nowhere. There have been issues with the laptop’s speed online. When I connected it to a docking station I would get this terrible buzzing noise. This is the first time I’ve ever purchased a laptop through a 3rd party vendor and regret it. Purchase directly from the company.

Great computer, fast, good display. I’ve had some issues running older games, which I’ve heard can be an issue with the new processors.

I’ve been on Mac the past 5 years, but this laptop is really making me thinking of going back to windows permanently. Super fast, well built, great touchpad, seamless login experience (they go facial recognition, with multiple logins). Just a joy to use (after disabling all the ads… which only takes a few minutes)
Upgraded the ssd from 256 gb to 1 tb myself and the process was extremely simple. I’m not a techie at all but followed a YouTube instructional video (saved $300+ dollars)

I purchased the 1st gen Surface Laptop years ago. It was a great machine so I decided to upgrade to the 3rd gen when it released several years later. This is the 7th gen Surface Laptop. It’s very much like the other two I’ve owned. That’s a good thing. But Microsoft has continued to improve upon the design each iteration. This laptop is really excellent. The build quality and design are supreme. They have even managed to keep the price right at $1000.
I can’t see why I would ever purchase another laptop. Thank you Microsoft.

I recently purchased the Microsoft Surface Laptop (2024), and overall, I’m incredibly impressed with its performance. The 13.8″ touchscreen display is vibrant and crisp, and the Snapdragon X Elite (12-core) processor makes multitasking a breeze. With 16GB of RAM and 1TB SSD storage, this laptop handles everything I throw at it—whether it’s video editing, running complex software, or just casual browsing. Windows 11 runs smoothly, and the device feels premium and well-built. Battery life is outstanding, and it’s surprisingly lightweight, making it great for both work and travel. The laptop is fast, responsive, and does exactly what I need without any hiccups. However, my one gripe is that after spending nearly $2,000 on this high-end machine, I still have to pay extra for Copilot+. Given the price of the laptop, I would have expected this feature to be included, especially since it’s one of Windows 11’s flagship features. While Copilot+ is a helpful AI tool, it feels like it should be a standard part of the package. Overall, I’m still giving it 5 stars because the hardware is fantastic, and it excels at everything I use it for. I just wish Microsoft would rethink the pricing model for Copilot+.

I was a little hesitant to move to an ARM based processor. After doing some research, watching reviews and looking at the applications I needed, I felt confident in purchasing. Everything has worked really well. I also purchased a 1TB micro SSD to put movies on as I plan to travel a lot. Battery lasts a long time without sacrificing performance.
