Hello all!
Ok…so I had been looking hard at the Casio Mudmaster 1A3…but at $450+…that’s a lot of scratch to drop. I have an Omega Seamaster Professional Chronograph…but I bought that maybe 16ish years ago, and I love it and generally do like watches, but my days of spending that kind of money for a watch seem to be over. I just don’t have the desire to spend that type of money on possessions like I used to. Pay for experiences…not possessions.
Having said all of that…I had to get my Omega fixed around a year ago and so that took 5 monthsish? I then started wearing an old Timex Triathlon watch from the early 2000’s with fast wrap Velcro band. I looked like I just stepped out of the late 90’s with that on. It kept time…but the Velcro band wore out, and I had to scour the seedy underbelly of the internet for another one of those…and then when I found it, I really didn’t want to keep wearing that every day and wear out another band on a watch I really should just be using for working out…not work, going out, etc.
Somehow….no idea how…I found this watch on Amazon. And for 17 bucks otd (out the door)…it’s tough to go wrong with it.
Bottom line is: I really like it.
I actually can’t believe how much I do like it. I’ve had if for two weeks…and It’s the perfect watch for me….and if I only get a year out of it…it’s totally worth it.
If you want to nitpick negatives, the rubbery band that holds the physical watch band slides away from the end of the actual band…so that might bother some people? I set it to the official U.S. Time (I’m that guy)…and a week later it was a minute fast….and that was the digital portion I set. But better a minute fast than slow.
The black and white is a great look.
It can be a bit challenging to see the “negative display” (watch nerds correct me if this is wrong)….which is the white numbering/lettering on black digital display. I’m under overhead lights inside most days….and I can generally see it pretty easily. I also have the eyes of a mongoose…so seeing things isn’t an issue for me. But the green display works perfectly at night.
The physical face is almost like a carbon fibre pattern…not smooth…which is a nice little unexpected touch.
I mean it’s just a perfect watch for me…and if I still love it a year from now, I might pull the trigger on a Casio Mudmaster…but for a watch to put my toe in the big Casio G-Shock water….it’s awesome and I’m glad I found it, ordered it, and have it.
The pictures tend to make it look a little cheesier and cheaper than it looks in real life.
The black and white design of the watch make it look classic and not gaudy…functional cool and not try-hard if that makes any sense. Big watch to be sure…but doesn’t shout out to look at me. You kinda look like you know something other people don’t know when you wear this watch. Especially the fact it looks like an expensive watch at only 17 bones…that’s no joke.

Me mandaron un Rejoj que no sirve lo digital, a los 2 días de apago, fui al relojero, le cambió la pila, y al día siguiente se vació la pila, volví a ir con el relojero, le puso otra pila y al día siguiente dejó de funcionar lo digital.
Pedí la devolución y me comentan que debo regresarlo con las envolturas t cajas originales. Obvio, ya no las tengo, no pensé que AMAZON venda porquerías y luego no quieran hacerse responsables, ni el vendedor ni AMAZON.

Watch is in working condition. I got this for 404 bucks in lightening deal and I am overwhelmed by the product. I mean the build quality, look, multiple features (like alarm, timer, green light) at this price is just amazing. It doesn’t look cheap at all, it looks premium instead (pic attached for reference). I would recommend everyone to buy this, whose budget is low and looking for a classy watch. Instead of investing 200-300 Rs in local watches, try this.
Ofcourse you can not pair it with formals but with casuals it rocks!!

As a recreational pilot, I use this watch for flying. It is certainly not my dress watch with that big SKMEI logo and the words GREEN LIGHT on it, but it’s a great rugged watch for flying and outdoor activities. The watch was easy to set, even if the directions are in broken English. As others stated, the watch does have a large form factor which some may find off-putting. For me, it’s not a problem- a little large but nevertheless fits my wrist. The watch does have a double clasp which is not readily apparent in the pictures (the band has two roles of parallel holes). This will likely make the band last a little longer but does make it slightly harder to get off. The double clasp does make it feel more secure.
Speaking of twos… the watch has two buttons for light. They appear to do the same thing. This is very odd. But I do like the big light button just below the face. That makes it easy to light up in the dark and more watches should have this. Most other watches have a little button that is hard to find. The big drawback however, is the light button does not light up the hands so it is hard to read the analog time zone. This is the only major drawback but is signifiant if you use the watch as I do. Lighted Hands or Glow in the Dark material would have fixed this problem. This was the one reason I gave this 4 stars.
The best part of this watch is the two independent time zones. Not just offsets. So you can set the digital one to UTC (Zulu) in 24 hour time and the analog one to your 12 Hour local time zone. When the time zone changes or DST change happens, just move the analog wheel on the right and you do not impact the UTC. Its funny that most aviator watches (even ones costing lets say $1000 bucks) dont allow you to set time zone independantly and allow for one time zone in 12 hour format and the other in 24. This detail, liekly unplanned really makes it a great watch for pilots.

Wow, where do I begin? This watch is a beast! I LOVE it! People at work ask me all the time if this is some kind of new fitbit or a USB data watch. I have to tell them, “Nope. It’s just a watch”. And they’re like “But… it’s so big!” and I have to laugh and tell them, “Yeah, it is!”. Because, IT IS!
This watch is huge and heavy. Make no mistake, if you have skinny arms, it’s gonna look like a spare tire is strapped to your wrist. This is a beefy, cyber-tech-looking, militaristic-feeling, ruggedy-type watch. Seriously, to me, it looks like something from some kind of futuristic sci-fi armor division. It’s got a big ol’ button that makes it light up (actually, two buttons for light – one on the upper left, and the big one) and other buttons for starting and resetting the stop-watch and changing the mode. But, really, you ain’t wanting this watch for the stop-watch capabilities. You’re wanting it because it’s a tough-looking piece of machinery and you want it on your wrist! The quality, as far as I’m concerned, is above par with what your paying. I mean, don’t expect Rolex-quality. But this ain’t a cheap piece of plastic! Well, it is cheap. And it’s plastic. But it’s good quality! You know what I’m saying! If you like how this looks, get it. It’s tough, it’s heavy, it’s big, it’s cheap.
