I spent 30 minutes trying to get the battery cover off and finally decided to return this because I was afraid I’d break the cover. While searching Google to see if there was information on inserting the battery, I found a short video comparing this tuner to a TC Electronics clip-on (which I have). The TC Electronics tuner is about double the price, but the accuracy is far greater. If you have an expensive guitar, it’s worth a bit extra to tune accurately IMHO.

I needed a tuner for my son’s String Bass so he didn’t keep on stealing my TC Polytune Clip. The TC is hard to find now, so I went with the slightly non-generic Mooer clip thinking it would have decent quality. That turned out to be right, it is a fine $20 tuner for a 13 year old to use at home but I wouldn’t recommend it for much more. Accuracy is ok, visual readout is ok, and it can do the basic job.
The biggest complaint I have is with the battery compartment – this has to be the worst non-standard design I’ve ever seen and I’m just waiting for it to break and out comes the tape to hold in the battery. The manual mentions nothing about it either.
The other reviews comparing this to the TC are really stretching. Sure, they look similar but that’s where it ends. When you actually use the TC you’ll see that it’s a pro-level product and there are a number of differences that easily make it worth more.
In hindsight, I wish I’d spent a little more on either the Peterson or Boss versions.

Every guitar player needs at least one of these. I use it on two acoustic guitars (steel and nylon strings) and my Fender Telecaster. It clips on the headstock, but thanks to rubber coatings on the clip, it does not scratch the headstock finish. The display is bright and easy to read. I used it to set the intonation on my Strat. It senses harmonic vibration so guitars can be tuned unamplified.
My only complaints are that the tiny power button is sometimes difficult to locate and use while attached to the guitar, and the the battery it arrived with was weak and needed replacing too soon. Otherwise: 5 stars!

No problem with this tuner. Works great and is accurate.

I have had little success with clip on tuners in general. I usually do not spend more than around 20 USD on them. So far this has held up well. I have used for Standard and Alternate tunings. You can set outside of 440hz as well( though I haven’t) . The display seems a bit outdated ( LED or LCD, whatever one uses the dots) but its very easy to read and very clear. Battery life is good so far (which is usually one of the biggest problems I run into) . Instructions are clear. Accurate to my ear. Clip is metal and padded well ( it won’t put any unwanted scratches on my heavily reliced from the factory guitar) who wants authentic relicing ( soo boomer ). Fun for the whole family!

Meh, works ok but not as good as a polytune. Screen can be hard to read. Not the most accurate. And it seems to be slow. Just go with s snark.
Mark Puszkarczuk –
Easy to read. Fast to use. Tunes great. Compact and cool.
John Gaspard –
Very good tuner and quite accurate. I give it 4 Stars because the switch is a little hard and sometimes difficult to turn on with one hand when I have it on the headstock of my guitar.
Blaine Counter –
I bought this a couple of months ago and have used it almost everyday to use on both my bass and guitar.
I like the way the tuner present the frequency – instead of use a digital panel, it actually implemented a bunch of LEDs to indicate the pitch and the tuning experience is so smooth!
i actually prefer this over the phone apps as sometimes it is difficult to place the phone at a perfect location to collect the sound stably.
thanks Mooer!!!

No instruction as to how to get the battery compartment open. Threw it away unused. More bother than it’s worth sending it back.
