Mothers Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner – 24 Oz

I have light grey cloth seats (terrible color for car seats and kids). This cleaner has cleaned chocolate, food stains, and blood so far. At first I was worried the cleaner itself stains. There was a water stain looking thing after I cleaned. But after I took a damp cloth to it, the water stain looking thing dried and disappeared.

UPDATE: 7/7/14 – to the GM Truck owners with the fabric seats. Be extremely careful cleaning these seats. I was removing a soda stain and the seat ripped during my second pass at cleaning. Note I was using a microfiber cloth, so be gentle when cleaning these type of seats. This is not anything negative about the product, just be careful on your cheap GM cloth seats.

Those of you that have a Chevy truck and stuck with those light gray cloth seats, you will understand this review. Found that to properly clean those cloth seats, do NOT use a carpet & fabric brush. You will get uneven cleaning. Instead, spray an even moderate mist on the entire sitting area, and wipe with a micro cloth. It will not show the excess cleaner that looks like a stain on the seats when using the carpet brush.

I don’t normally review products, but I feel compelled to do so today. My Welsh terrier has been “scratching” his body along the back of the sofa. I didn’t notice a problem until I observed this huge black mark all along the fabric. It looked awful. I tried my Bissel pet-bot machine (which normally performs great on carpet accidents), Resolve Spray, and some additional carpet cleaners to no avail. Before I was forced to hire a professional steam-type cleaning service, I ordered this Mothers Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner and gave it a shot yesterday. It did a great job! I did have to go over it a few times, but it really performed above my expectations. I ordered the upholstery brush, but didn’t need to use it. I just sprayed the area, and used an old washcloth to remove the dirt. Seriously, I could not be more pleased with the results. If you have a similar problem, I would highly recommend this product. Another great mothers product.

This product is a miracle cleaner. My 06 dodge has grey cloth seats that show every drop of moisture that has ever hit them. I had a water bottle drip a few times on one of the seats and it looked hideous like a big grease stain. The seats need tender love and care 24/7 and I’m too busy to baby them. I bought this cleaner as a last ditch effort before I forked out $50 for someone to detail the inside of my truck. The good thing is that this stuff works for this purpose, so I’m convinced they will clean any seat or carpet. This stuff pulled machine oil right out of my carpets and made my truck look like I just drove it off the lot. I did have to use some elbow grease and a stiff cleaning brush when getting splotches out of my seat but it was well worth it in the end. As for the smell, do like me and hang up a tree freshener and the smell is gone. Do you want a clean interior or do you want it to smell like rose petals? I must say I wish the bottle had lasted longer, but this was my first cleaning in about 5 years of the upholstery, so I figure regular upkeep would probably require less cleaning product. My initial deep clean took 3/4 of the bottle. Have cloth interior and some ugly looking spots you want to be cleaned? Pair this with Mothers detail brush and you’ll be satisfied.

I used this to clean the cloth seats and carpeting in my old car before I sold it. I used it in conjunction with the Mothers Carpet and Upolstry brush.With some elbow grease, It took out old stains from dirt and fruit punch ion the carpeting. It also took out a small oil stain on seat that settled for about 2 years. I used other products on the oil stain before without success but this worked great the first time. It’s a Greg product at a great price. And I sold my car at the max value. 🙂
