I’ve been around guitars most of my life. Always struggling to learn. I always thought set ups were for techs and pros to do. But after seeing a few videos about how to do it. I thought I could do it too.
One thing I never thought of before was having the radius of the strings at the bridge
For less than the price of having 1 guitar set up done by a “pro,” I ordered this set of tools. And can do all my own set ups. Most players probably have 3 or more guitars. So this well help you understand your guitar better and how it works.
I fist set up took me about 45 min to do a Les Paul type guitar. I use my least expensive guitar just in case I screwed up something.
With my tools ready and the music nomad kiss video on YouTube, it was pretty straight forward. The only thing I got wrong was using the pick capo swrong at first. The pick capo is the only part on this kit that I feel is kinda cheap, however it is functional.
Now all the gauges are great clearly marked, easy to read and use. Buy the time you do 2 or 3 different set ups, everything makes more sense.
The case it nice, and has extra room for small tools, accessories, or even a clip on tuner or a traditional capo.
One thing I never thought of was matching the radius of the saddle with the neck radius. But as soon as I saw and heard that on the video, I was like well duh. Makes sense that it would match.
I do think it’s a little pricey for what it is, but totally worth it fore what I can do! Also remember it pays for itself in 2-3 set ups.
Now, all my guitars a re very similar, not 100% identical, but ever so close. This definitely makes them easier to play, and I think it makes you a starter player buy understanding your instrument more.

They are very high quality. They are expensive, but I get it… They gotta make a profit and they probably don’t sell a lot of them.
I was able to almost do a complete setup on my strat with these… i say almost, because one of my nut slots is incorrect and there are no tools included in this to deal with that. For that you would need a nut file set.
It’s a great kit to build the foundations of your guitar setup tools. If your instrument doesn’t need any modifications and just a setup, these tools should do the job.
I have one criticism: the booklet that comes with it. Even though the pages are nice and thick and glossy, there is only ONE staple holding the pages together. After using the book once, it’s already sort of coming apart. There should be two staples in the book. Not a big deal, though.

This is a great little kit & very well thought out. Just used it to set up a guitar & it completely demystified the process with it’s clear instructions & useful videos. Good quality precision tools aren’t cheap, so this is good value.

Everything you need to verify or make adjustments minus the screw/nut drivers that you will need. Consider it one part of at least two kits you’ll need! Note: If you don’t know how to adjust the neck, bridge, intonation, or string height, you’ll need to do a little research, but this tool kit has free online instructions to get you started (minus some of the more specialized guitars/basses). Get the MusicNomad Premium 26 PC. Guitar Tech Screwdriver & Wrench Set MN229, and there’s nothing you shouldn’t be able to repair or adjust!

At first I thought, ok the tools are qiet flimsy, and it’s expensive, but now I set up the guitar also when I change strings, because it goes fast and easy , and I find the extra money is worth it.

I have purchased other setup kits and individual tools before and each of them disappointed in either quality or legibility in that they were very difficult to read when trying to adjust action or setting string height. This kit was well thought out, well made, and very easy to read. That last fact increases the value of this kit 10x over others that now sit on my shelf untouched.

Nice quality tools for a reasonable price. Includes a little instruction book that tells you how to use everything and the proper order for using the tools, which is a very nice touch. The book gives you the proper order for performing a simple guitar setup and has clear, concise explanations for each step. The booklet will save me hours of watching videos on YT. Quality case too. This is one of my favorite tool purchases since I started building guitars, and one of the least expensive too. Highly recommended.
