LAViking –
Used this in 33F and it did great. Only disappointing thing was there were 4 little holes in one of the top mesh panels and this was a brand new tent. Not large enough to let a bug in, but for a never used tent I am not sure how that would have slipped through QC.

My wife thought she’d like to have her own tent for trips with friends, something uncomplicated and easy to set up – so this looked like something which might work for her.
Setup:
It’s hard to imagine any double wall tent could be easier to setup than this. Pull the cords for each half, stake the corners and doors, and you’re done. And if you choose you can add the guylines/stakes for windier weather. The video included with the item’s description shows 2 people setting it up, this is ideal. For one person, it’s still easy but after you open the first half, the weight of the first half must now be overcome when you pull the cord for the second half. It seems this might put additional stress on the “opening mechanism”. So what I’ve started to do instead (after opening the first half) is to tilt the first half backward, so it’s almost vertical. It then takes much less effort to pull the cord and open the second half.
The materials and the pop-up mechanism seem sturdy. I do wonder though, how well the pop-up mechanism will hold up over time.
Ventilation:
This tent has very little mesh on the inner tent body, making it a poor choice for a hot night.
The item’s description says this is a “4 season” tent. Is that the same as a “4th season”? Most “4th season” tents really are only for winter and not something that would be chosen year round. Can this tent really handle the weight of snow collecting on top like a true “4th season” tent? I don’t know, but it does feel pretty sturdy. The tent also does not have a snow skirt to prevent wind-blown-snow from coming in. So this may be better considered a “3+ season” tent or even a “2+ season” tent (as you wouldn’t choose it on a hot night). I do think it would be a pretty good “moderate, cool & cold temperature” tent, when the lack of mesh on the inner tent would be less of an issue.
I spent a few hours in the tent last night, it was about 80F outside. All 4 vents were open. At first it didn’t feel that warm inside the tent, but it didn’t take long for the temperature, and especially the humidity to rise with me inside. I experimented with hanging a small fan at one end of the tent, in between the inner mesh and outer vent (see photo) – no matter which direction the fan was blowing, it did not help in any appreciable way.
Also, there is mesh on the outer fly at each of the 4 vents. Why would this be necessary, as the it’s the inner tent which provides the bug protection? It seems this mesh would reduce the effectiveness of the vents.
In general, this would be a much more useful tent with additional mesh on the inner tent body. As is, it wouldn’t be my first choice for a hot night.
Dimensions:
The livable space is a bit shorter than many comparable tents. The only dimensions provided in the product descriptions says 82-83″ (length), but that is the dimension for the outer rain fly not the interior. After you subtract a couple inches on either end for the space between the inner and outer, and subtract a couple more inches for the fact that the ends aren’t vertical (but rather curve inward towards the floor, see photo) – you’re left with something more like 72-73 inches. My inflatable air mat is 78 inches long and “rides up” a little at either end of the tent. The interior width is 49-50″. Peak height is about 40″, depending on the ground you’re on.
Pros:
– It’s hard to imagine any double wall tent could be easier to setup than this.
– No leaks. After spraying it with a garden hose and a couple fairly intense, but short (15min) showers – no leaks were found inside. The seam taping looks excellent, no bubbles or cracks.
– The combined inner/outer can be setup in the rain and still keep the interior dry.
– 2 doors
– The non-symetrical doors give you a larger opening for easier access. This should be more common than it is.
– 4 vents, one at either end and one at the top of each door.
Cons:
– There is little mesh on the inner tent. The doors are mesh, and there are mesh sections at each end, but that’s it. This will really limit the ventilation and would not make this tent a good choice for hot weather.
– There is one hook inside the tent, located above the mesh at one end. There are no fabric loops to attach anything. There are 2 pockets at either end (total of 4), one above the other – “pro”, but using the lower pocket though will block some of the mesh section, further limiting ventilation – “con”.
– The outer doors/vestibules droop inwards rather severely, see photos. The aesthetics aside, this reduces the volume of the vestibule, and anything larger than your shoes (like a knapsack) will be in contact with the outer fly (and therefore will collect moisture when condensation occurs on the inside of the fly). The reduced vestibule volume also doesn’t help the ventilation. Also, when exiting the tent, my face would press against the outer door when I reached for the zipper. This was less pleasant with condensation present.

Ok, I had read and seen some mixed reviews on this tent… but let me say this, it goes up in seconds, comes down just as fast and just did two days of pouring rain and it DID NOT leak a drop.
It rained so hard that even my poncho was soaking through and this tent stayed bone dry.
Just WOW!
