NEEWER 80.7″ Carbon Fiber Tripod Monopod Description

“`html

The NEEWER Upgraded 80.7″ Carbon Fiber Camera Tripod Monopod is a versatile and robust solution for photographers and videographers seeking stability and flexibility in various shooting environments. Built with high-quality carbon fiber, this tripod ensures durability and optimal performance, making it an essential tool for both amateur and professional photographers.

Sturdy Carbon Fiber Construction

One of the standout features of this tripod is its sturdy carbon fiber material. The thickened 28mm diameter columns provide substantial support, capable of holding camera equipment weighing up to 26.5lb/12kg. This ensures that your camera remains stable, even in challenging conditions. Additionally, the center column includes an extra hook where you can hang sandbags to enhance the tripod’s stability further (sandbags not included).

Convertible Tripod/Monopod Design

The NEEWER tripod features a unique convertible design that allows it to function both as a tripod and a monopod. This is particularly useful for outdoor and travel photography. When you need a walking stick or alpenstock, simply remove the center column, detach one tripod leg, and connect them. The monopod can range from 22.2”/56.5cm to an impressive 83.8”/213cm in height. For added convenience, a carrying bag is included to make travel easier.

Extended Height and Flexibility

With 2 sections of telescopic center column and 4 sections of telescopic tripod legs, the NEEWER tripod can reach a maximum height of 80.7″/205cm. The quick release twist locks make it easy to adjust the tripod to your desired height, with a minimum height of 26.8″/68cm. For low angle shooting and macro photography, the center column can be inverted, providing additional flexibility.

360° Swivel Ball Head for Panoramic Shots

The tripod is equipped with a 36mm ball head that swivels 360 degrees, allowing for flexible filming angles while maintaining camera stability. Two locking knobs provide precise control over camera movement, making panoramic filming a breeze. Additionally, the tripod includes two bubble levels to help keep your horizon straight.

Wide Compatibility

Designed with a 1/4” quick release plate and three extra 1/4” screw holes, this travel tripod is compatible with a wide range of cameras, including Canon, Nikon, Sony DSLR cameras, camcorders, sports cameras, and mirrorless cameras. It can also be used with phone holders that have a 1/4″ threaded screw hole (phone holder not included). Despite its robust build, the carbon fiber construction ensures the tripod is compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry for on-the-go photography.

While photographing the recent eclipse I realized that I needed a tripod which stood a littler taller than the one that I had (a different Neewer model).

This one certainly fits the bill. The carbon fiber is lightweight and it easily handles the weight that I need to put on it (A Nikon D500, with a battery grip, Sigma 150-600, and a gimbal) without any difficulty.

This is not a bad tripod. For the $$ it is generally good. It is not especially light weight, it is not especially strong, it is not especially great quality. BUT!

It is very good quality, it is prety sturdy if you use it properly, it is light(ish) and compact enough and the legs seem relatively sturdy.

The ball head is good (a little above average quality for the Neewer range of tripods), it is smooth, and locks tight with multiple locking screws. Note: it does have a bit of “wandering” when all locks are set. I have a two pound Nikon P950 and used a 2.5 lbs Panasonic Eva-1 video camera and it wonders a bit when locked. So I would only use this tripod in a pinch with my video camera (not really a “video” tripod).

I like the legs, they have been sturdy. I plan to use a different head that will remove the wandering issue and that should be a good combo.

At full extension (which is pretty tall) it wobbles a lot, so I would not use it at the full hight. But that is to be expected as light weight means thin legs, and the like. The monopod system (remove a leg and there you have it, a monopod) is good and handy to have on had at all times. I think it is a better monopod than average.

The locking system for the legs is ok. It is a typical twist lock type. They have clicks as you lock it, but not sure if that is intentional or not.

Overall at the right price, this is a “not bad” carbon fiber legged tripod. For pro use, I would go elsewhere and pay the premium of pro. For prosummer use, I would recommend this tripod. For average use, this is a good, relatively light, good looking and sturdy tripod for the $$.

It’s heavy duty/heavy. My other ones weigh a few pounds. This is probably the weight of both put together. That is what I wanted. It’s sturdy. It’s all metal. (Minus the foot stops which are rubber). I was looking for a tripod to stand up to the wind out here. This is good enough I probably will not need to sand bag it. For reference I often have to fight 30+mph winds on a sunny day. I set it up last night in the wind on the porch and it didn’t budge. I don’t have to worry about it toppling over.

Everything moves. It’s all adjustable. I will be able to multi use it with my teleprompter as well.

It’s a great tripod. The leg locks are a bit finicky but you’ll get used to it. It’s a great tripod, sturdy, the fluid head could be better for panning. This is kinda heavy for travel. And it’s not advertised as a travel tripod.

I am so very impressed with the Neewer brand of photographic and videography equipment. I’ve been using the Neewer brand of equipment for the better part of a year now and I feel that most of their equipment and gear are at a professional grade level, but for a much better price tag than big brand names.

This Neewer 80.7” Carbon Fiber Camera Tripod/ Monopod is no exception. It is professional all the way, being top quality. It has many features that I like, with the ball head, light weight, and ruggedness being the most important to me. It has a panning ring that works great for when taking panoramas. This tripod with this particular ball head is specifically designed for cameras being used for photography, not that it can’t be used for videography, but without a panning handle, it is meant more for photography. With this ball head and camera mount, you can tilt and angle your camera into positions that aren’t possible on standard, basic tripods that don’t have ball heads. Using the ball head adjustment knobs to position the camera is very intuitive.

The tripod is very light and strong because it is made of carbon fiber. It is also compact and comes with a nice looking soft shell, padded carrying case and shoulder strap. Unlike some tripods, the Neewer Professional Camera tripod’s legs move independently of each other. The legs have 3 angle adjustment positions that can be locked in using easy buttons. – See pictures
    • Low – legs almost lay flat out
    • Medium – legs are wide for stability
    • High – legs are more narrowly spread.

The centre shaft can easily be inverted which is fantastic for very low-to-the-ground shots.

An added feature that I very much enjoy about this tripod is that one of the legs can detach from the tripod to be converted into a Monopod! This feature is absolutely fantastic for my use! Another unexpected, but very cool feature is that the monopod leg can double as a walking stick!

This is my favourite photography tripod and I am so happy that I ordered it. The price is very reasonable for the quality and features. I highly recommend “NEEWER Upgraded 80.7″ Carbon Fiber Camera Tripod Monopod with Telescopic 2 Section Center Axes, and 360° Panorama Ball head”.

    Absolutely 5 stars from me!

Very good quality, stable, head works well but did need a little dry lubricant to smooth out. Extra height is nice when needed.

This tripod is awesome. Stands almost 9 feet tall when fully extended. The camera is very secure and the amateur photographer will greatly appreciate the options available for finally capturing the hard to reach shots with a steady and secure position available with this tripod. Boyfriend was blown away when he used it for the first time! This item is a must have for options available using this item!!!
