This is a great little clip on LED light ..
it goes perfectly on my rimless shallow tank that I’m getting ready to design ..
it should be really great for my plants (and my shrimp , eventually , when I get those)
I just wish the neck was a little bit longer, other than that I really like the light…
It has 2 settings for daytime and nighttime.
it’s a great cheap nano aquarium light , easy to use- just plug it in and go.

As you can see I got three of these lights for my 125g Oscar tank. I didn’t have any concern if there were good for plants bc Oscar’s are notorious for killing live plants and mine are all fake. I also have a few heavily planted tanks. After setting these up I would have no problem growing low and some med light plants under these. They don’t get hot and I was surprised they were able to fit on the rim of the 125g tank. I am considering. Buying a few more just to have on hand. I can’t speak to the longevity or if they are waterproof but honestly if they last a couple years or less who cares at the price. I would suggest these to any one.

I purchased this and the larger light as well. I have this one mounted on the lower frame of my stand (not on the tank). Really brightens up my smaller tank which has always been dark (no matter where it was). The fish and snails seem to love the light. Very easy to install and with the various swivel/bend adjustments it’s easy to get the light how you want it.

So far this light is working very well on my 3 liter tank. Nice to have two brightness levels to choose from. Clip is solid and neck is flexible so you can aim it where you need light the most (over plants for example). I clipped this light on clear acrylic stand behind the tank so that it didn’t put pressure on the glass walls. I would recommend this light.

Great product, especially for the money. I have only had it for 2 to 3 weeks now, so i won’t comment on longevity. It initially appeared very dim on first impression but it is actually very bright light. So much so I’m having a hard time adjusting to the moonlight setting as I have it on an 8 gallon nano planted tank that sits near to my bed. Everything is still growing well. I have not been using any ferts or co2 on this tank. The build seems very sturdy and the flexible neck is very convenient and strong. Overall i am very pleased with the light and its design, except for the clamp, and would purchase another after evaluating its longevity. The clamp is actually not that bad. It will work very well with rimmed tanks. My personal issue with it is that its on the larger side and the issues i have with connecting it to this specific tank. Tanks with glass tops will have some minor issues attaching the clamp. I think this still overall merits 5 stars as the shortcomings i noted are maily due to personal preferences and nothing to do with build or quality.

Last update: received the complimentary replacement (older model) as promised. Can’t fault Nicrew for their customer service and the older model of light is still great. Updated my review from one to four star to reflect the great customer service. From what I can see, the newer models are basically the same light with a bit more polishing so the four stars stands for the product as well. The Nicrew rep also messaged me after my last update to specify that the stock issue had been fixed but that’ll be up to future buyers to validate.
Second update: the company contacted me to apologize and offered to send me an older model that has a North American plug. They didn’t actually address the issue of products being shipped with UK plugs in Canada – I have no idea if this will happen to others or was an isolated fulfilment/supply chain error. They did note that they were unable to verify if/when the correct product would be in the fulfillment centre due to that being on Amazon’s end of things which is true, I’m sure, but not very reassuring as a buyer. Regardless, it seems like they’ve done what they can on an individual basis to help me out and are sending me the replacements free of charge. I also still think these are decent lights for the price. I’ll update again when I receive the replacements.
Update: Bought two more in the hopes this was an isolated error, got two more with UK plugs. The local fulfillment centre must be full of the wrong product. Hope Nicrew gets this fixed.
Original review (1 star): These are great lights for small to medium sized aquariums. It would be nice if you could choose to turn on the white LEDs only (you can either turn on blue only or blue and white combined) but that’s not a deal breaker. I have had four of these running on tanks and they light and grow plants well. You do need an external timer if you want to run these on a schedule.
I recently ordered two more and got two newer looking models with UK electrical plug connections. Since this is Amazon Canada, these are obviously useless to Canadian buyers and I assume is a stocking/shipping mistake. Will be returning and will update my review if the seller responds about the issue.
