A bit bulky but quality appears ok, the material is middle of the road, the size is a bit different, I took advise from a previous buyer on size, ordered an adult medium. I wear a 16-1/2 by 42 regular shirt/ jacket and the pfd fits well and has more adjustment for some middle aged spread.

The XS/small fits my 90-100 lb kids and love the design that doesn’t rub on their neck and face. Bonus for pocket with an attached whistle and reflector spots.

Ordered xs/s after reading other reviews, and it was a good decision. I typically buy medium size tops (5’7” 143lb) and I tighten this vest to the maximum for perfect fit. Lots of room around arms for unrestricted movement when paddling. Love it. Delivery was delayed a few days but I was given a heads up on it and knew what to expect.

My 5 year old daughter loves this and so do we. We have an above ground pool that she can not reach the bottom of yet. She is able to float around and still jump off the ladder and get her head wet. I love the safety feature of the buckle in the back. You have to press a separate button along with the 2 buttons on the side to un buckle it. I love this because I don’t need to worry about her 6 year sister taking the float off without my knowledge. It has held up really well and we love it!

Love this life vest for kayaking in the sound and river. I’ve used it multiple times now and it fits nice and snug but doesn’t chafe. It’s kept me afloat when I have gone in the water. My whole family now has onyx life vests. The only thing I wish it had was a larger front pocket on this version. I am 5’3 and 130ibs with a 34inch chest, the small fit me perfectly.

Just spend the money. I fell out of my kayak 4 times today and this life jacket kept me afloat. Bought 1 for someone else as well. They noted the emergency whistle that was included in the pocket!

So, I did a ton of research and reviewing of kayak PFD’s in a similar price range and am so glad I got this one. I’ve used it about 8 times on my SUP in the past month and a half and love it! It’s so comfy that I forget I have it on. The arm holes are cut so as not to interfere with paddling and maneuvering. The built in safety whistle is handy and I like that the vest has a lash tab (I clip the whistle to it or my knife). Easy to zip up, lightweight, high viz color, and cool to wear due the the netting. I only wish it had one more lash tab and perhaps more room in the pocket but it’s one of the best small investments I’ve made for my SUP adventures.
I’ll also admit: For vanity reasons, I didn’t want a bulky PFD (I know, silly) but this one is just too comfortable that I no longer care. And honestly, it’s less bulky than others and def better looking than a traditional boating PFD. Plus, the cut is short, making it not bunch up around the waist. Highly recommend!
