Carol –
I have experienced dry eyes for most of my life. I have spent a lot of money on various drops, masks, ointments, etc. I have never experienced anything like this spray. It is absolutely fantastic!
Yes, it does take a little bit of practice to use the sprayer, but the long-term effects of the spray are better than anything else I ever used!
Sometimes it does slightly sting for a few seconds, but I have found that the long-term effects of keeping my eyes moistened and clear are well worth the experience of a little stinging.
All I know is, I would be really upset if this product were to be discontinued. I have waited so long to find something that really works as well as this spray does.

This product is fantastic after heating and cleansing the eyelids. I love how it soothes and moisturises my eyelids that have been dry and crusty from blaepharitis. Will re order.

This dry eye spray is a wonderful way to get drops in the eyes!! It does moisturize the eyes, but for me it burns for a while after using. I have used a different brand that was natural ingredients and never burned in my eyes. You don’t spray in the eye, but on your eyelids and it works its way down to the lashes and then spreads into your eyes!! Which is what my other product did also.. This product has Tea Tree Oil in it, and I don’t know if that’s what is burning every time I use it or not!, I don’t think I will purchase again.. I will try to find another natural product.. This product may not burn your eyes, just my experience!

I’ve tried several different brands of eye drops and these are the most soothing for my dry itchy eyes. Yes you do have to get used to spraying onto a closed eyelid but a bit of practice is worth it.

I am extremely disappointed in Optase Dry Spray. The premise is that you spray this on your eyelids from 6-10 inches away. Then, you blink so it goes in your eyes. There are 2 major issues with that:
1) You are spraying with your eyes closed. The spray goes out with a wide mist. You end up spraying your forehead and cheeks more than anything else. About 20 wasteful sprays in, you finally hit your eyelids. And, it does drip down but not in your eyes!! It just drips down your face.
2) If you are lucky enough to get a drop or two of the solution in your eyes, it burns. It isn’t soothing and it does not help your dry eyes. I find that my eyes feel dryer using this spray. Then after using, I have crust that has formed on my eyes. I didn’t have crust to begin with.
What is really upsetting is how expensive this is. I contacted Optase directly before purchasing this. I asked them specifically if the dry spray had the same ingredients as the Optase intense dry eye drops. I didn’t want to waste my money on this if it didn’t. They said and I quote, “The spray can be used in lieu of the drops” and implied that they had the same ingredients. See below and judge for yourselves if these ingredients are the same:
Dry spray ingredients: Glycerin 1%, Citric Acid Monohydrate, Polyoxyethylenesorbitan Monooleate. Potassium Chloride, Purified Water, Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sorbitan Monooleate, Tromethamine
Intense drop ingredients: Glycerin 0.2%, Hydrochloric acid, sodium hyaluronate, sorbitol, trometamol, water
It looks to me like there are 10 ingredients in the dry spray and 6 ingredients in the intense dry eye drops. The glycerin content isn’t even the same! And, now I have wasted my money on this and do not have the money I need to buy the drops.

At first I thought how can eye drops work with eyes closed. But it really does. Seems to work best and I’ve tried them all. It’s challenging to get it working properly but once you do I really like product. Will keep buying.

This is the easiest and most cooling, soothing dry eye spray
Yes you got to spray with your eyes close onto your eyelids. I don’t know how it works but it does get into the eye itself as well as smooth the puffiness of eyelids for TED – my eyes are always gritty and severely dry and puffy. THIS brand is the only one that helps me! It’s worth every Penny.
It does spray aggressively so makes you jump – you will get used to it over time and soon won’t notice it. Seriously try these.
They rock!

Doesn’t spray easy Have to push the nozzle down many times

I had sent in a review earlier and would like to change that review. Although the bottle did not function as was understood the second-third time used, I was finally able to use. So, I’m going to recant first review. Sorry for this mixup….

I work on a computer all day as an ophthalmic scribe and get severely dry eyes (if you work in the ophthalmology world, I had 3+ SPK at my last visit). My eyes seem to be the most dry while driving home from work and would get to the point I felt like I couldn’t blink. I got tired of pulling over to put tears in. One of the ODs recommended this and it works wonderfully. I close 1 eye and spray the lids. Keep that eye closed a few seconds then do the other one. It works pretty fast. I do have to say, don’t use if wearing eye make up and DO NOT SPRAY INTO YOUR EYE. I also had a patient that had reactions to even preservative free artificial tears. We recommended she try this and she had no reaction to it, as it is topical and not instilled directly onto eye.

Refreshes the eyes nicely.Easy to use.
