When I received it, it came in a stacked backpack style case, which I though was exelant because I am on the road a lot. It plays pretty decent, very similar to the Yamahas I play in the past. I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 because of the misrepresentation of the case, other than that, very great buy for the price I paid. I recommend it for a player who isn’t a professional player and just wants to continue their playing, such as in church or community bands like I do.

Got this for my son and he indicated that it is very good. Excellent price especially compared to what we paid for a beginner French Horn, this is excellent. French Horn is great. Case it ok, not the best, but we did not purchase this for the case and it functions adequately. The instrument is in excellent condition and well worth the money. In addition, the shipping was quick.

This French Horn produces a good sound and tone quality, but is having some problems. The valves are continuously getting stuck (even after a trip to the music store) and the keys refuse to move upon warm ups, but sometimes loosen up after a few minutes of playing. The slides do not come greased, and take a lot of effort to come out. They are better after a few months of consistently greasing, but we’re very uncooperative in the first few weeks/months.
Others seem to have different cases and equipment, but I have received everything indicated in the pictures (gloves, case, valve oil, cloth, two mouthpieces) But as others have said, I was also given a bit of trouble resetting the trigger, and the metal instead of strings on the valves is not ideal.
This horn produces a good sound, but I would not recommend without the buyer prepared to deal with problems or sending the horn to be fixed multiple times. But hey, what can you expect for this price?

Before buying this horn I knew I was taking a gamble by buying such a cheap one. Then again I play in the band just as an extracurricular at my school so no need for a professional grade product. I did not expect to hit the JACKPOT! Not only is so shiny and beautiful, I’ve been complimented on it’s sound quality by a friend who’s been playing horn for much longer than me! The only thing that’s indicative of its price is the case…it’s kind of cheap looking, but who cares its just the case! I recommend this for any horn player who is not seriously studying horn or pursuing a music career.

I bought this French horn for my son for Christmas, but he has never use it because he had the French horn he borrowed from his middle school and now that he’s gonna start high school he was gonna use it this week he wanted to play it but the valves were stuck so i took it to get fix and have to pay $130 for them to fix it, so I’m not very happy with this purchased and since its being a while i can’t do anything about it.

I wanted to post my review, hoping it will help others make their decision.
I’ve had the horn for a few months now. I bought it mainly for air travel, as my horn doesn’t have a detachable bell.
The case that came with the horn is definitely not suitable for carry-on, but I assumed that before buying anyway.
My very experienced teacher says it is generally a good horn, at least for my (beginner) playing level, she’s now tried it two separate times. She agrees that the keys are too close, in other words it’s better suited to quite small hands. My hands are probably average “man size” and I am always resting the bell directly on my leg to provide support (an indication my left hand can’t really support the horn because of the key position).
There are other user comments about keys/valves sticking. My perception is this horn does need a little more than the usual lubrication, and I’m sure works better if used daily.
She says the horn is rather heavy. The arrangement for positioning the thumb trigger is not easy to adjust. As I recall, she suspects the horn is made by a company connected with King.
