OTC pullers are always quality product, same puller as john deere special tool used for most pulling application on different jobs.

I needed to pull a propeller shaft coupler off a tappered SS 25mm shaft. The 522 has a long 3/4″ drive shaft with a pointed tip for centering on your work. The tool was perfect for the job after I got a machine shop to cut down the length of the tools drive shaft. I’m guessing I was able to get about 10 + tons of tension using a cheater bar. Be carefull if you have to hit the tools drive shaft as it deforms readily. With a combination of tension from the tool and me pounding on the tools drive I actually mushroomed the propeller shaft. Luckly, I was able to clean up the threads. The tool is well made, and the slots adapt it to any number of applications (as long as the bolt patterns are symetrical). Don’t forget to lube the drive shaft and protect from impact.

Used it to pull the blade holder assembly off a 285 Bush Hog mower. Had tried everything, even a 12 ton hydraulic puller wouldn’t budge it. Rigged this up to it using a couple of Grade 8 1/2 inch bolts, using a 1 inch air hammer (this thing has like 2500 lbs. of torque), heat, and a 10 lb. maul finally broke it loose. Bent the bolts, pulled the 1/2 inch nuts right off the threads, but this puller didn’t break and to my amazement the puller bolt didn’t even bend. Best 50 bucks I ever spent.
