I was not expecting this adapter to have such a large brick for a plug, but it nonetheless filled the bill. The cord is sufficiently long enough to reach from the outlet to the hub it is used with, and the tip fits the hub perfectly. The voltage is sufficient to power all four USB drives attached to the hub which I share on my home network.

I have several cheap USB 7-port 3.0 hubs under my desks to connect all my accessories. I was seeing unreliable communication and dropouts with a lot of devices connected, especially since I added a Razer Chroma-enabled wireless charging pad to the mix that draws its power from the USB port. This adapter handles the whole set of RGB peripherals with ease. It fit the generic USB hubs I had, but also came with an adapter to use with larger barrel jacks if needed.

Stable voltage!
Runs my Atomic Pi servers ‘full tilt’ at 10 watts VS 12watts a cheaper 3.5amp I already owned. So yeah 20% more ECO?! I ordered a second one for this reason to put on my other server.
The included Pigtail is AWESOME so that you can cut the plug off and have bare wires to work with, and still retain a hard disconnect plug! Or if project has a barrel, you got 2 sizes to work with!
It is Quite LARGE for a wall-wart. Doesn’t fit 6x power strips without blocking. I’m thinking 2″ wide maybe smaller, take my word for it and plan to have space if on a strip.
All in all, blown away! Has run 10 months on 2x servers 24/7 not even slightly warm, not a single hiccup, server stayed alive in a ~500ms ‘brown out’ that turned everything else in house off. Atomic Pi’s are Very picky on stable voltages and from looking at volts, yeah NICE AND SOLID even on full tilt!

If you are ordering this unit outside the USA make sure you order and adaptor as this unit is fitted with a USA type plug. Other than that it works fine.

My old AMD 3+ MB has weak USB 3.0 ports they always cut on and off when anything requiring the slightest power is connected. This fit Sabrent Hub that is the same one currently selling on Amazon perfectly. I just tested 2 items that would not work before, a m-sata external enclosure and a dual antenna WIFI adapter. Both would constantly reset over and over before, they are now 100% stable…

At the time, the Amazon page for each device pointed to the other device as “Customers also bought…” so I figured they were known to work well as a team.
Neither device worked well.
The Plugable button felt flimsy and, rather than changing back and forth between its green A and blue B settings, often neither light would light up. It also wouldn’t switch correctly, sometimes getting its colors switched, and often losing a device completely.
I thought the problem must be that I needed a power adapter for the Sabrent hub. And I read a few reviews where Manny from Sabrent would reply to people, saying:
“Search on amazon for PS-5V4A or see the link below…”

I bought that adapter, hooked it to the hub… and IMMEDIATELY my monitor went black! The monitor wasn’t even one of the two devices for which I was using the hub + switch! However, the power adapter + hub caused some “keyboard error” which shut off my PC.
I tried this repeatedly, and it happened every time.
I’ve tried using the Plugable switch without the Sabrent hub, and it’s still unacceptable.
I tried using the Sabrent hub+switch once or twice before I got scared that I was hurting my computer in the name of saving a few bucks. Then I gave up on all three devices.
They’re each only about $10, so I’m not sure it’s worth the effort to send them back. I don’t have the boxes anymore. But I think it’s worth the effort to give each device this 1-star review.

La alternativa al PS-5V4a que subió de precio, inclusive tal vez ya esté descontinuado a la fecha de esta reseña, la diferencia solamente es el color evidentemente, lo ocupo para alimentar HUBS 3.0 Sabrent y claro que hay, notablemente más velocidad de transferencia al conectar por ejemplo discos duros que incluso, como observación, no se pueden conectar más de 2 discos en el Hub si no tiene este eliminador, lo encontré a un precio bastante accesible y contiene un adaptador para colocarlo a la entrada que requieras.

Positive: I got this in a very short amount of time. Tested it with a volt meter first to confirm the output voltage (see Cons), tested fine. Plugged it into my old Sabrent that I ordered quite a long time ago that only had a 2A brick. This one supported three hard drives all powered up at one time with no problem.
Negative (Con): The package I received had obviously been returned by a previous user (hense the testing with a volt meter first. I read back through the description and product details and no where did it say new. But also, it did not say used. The brick even had the previous buyer’s own white tape on it where he labeled it. So I knocked off one star.
Update: July 27, 2016. The brick is still going strong. No heat problem. Found out why the original owner returned it. He wanted the adapter!
So, mine did not have the adapter but I it did not need it as it fit my 4-port hub just find.
The real question is, will it get hot and start that dreaded connect-disconnect-connect-disconnect cycle. I will have to keep a close eye on it.
