I went from playing a Bach 3c to the Schilke 14, and I am really happy with it. In comparison the 3c feels a little bit stuffy. With the Schilke my tone is more focused and rounded, and I feel like my dynamic range has improved. My low range is more robust and clean, and my upper register has a more pleasant, softer tone.

Not suitable for my purposes. Would recommend for French Horn type players. Would take a lot of getting use to for any application I might have.
Hamilton –
Perfect for my son. He says it is easy to use.

For those of us with full sized lips (aka soup-coolers lol) this mouthpiece is a blessing from the trumpet gods!

I am a trombone player in highschool. I have been playing trombone for almost 8 years now. It is my senior year and our band only has 1 trumpet player. I therefore decided to pick up the trumpet around 6 months ago to help out our school. A trumpet mouthpiece is obviously very different from a trombone mouthpiece. I did well on a 7c mouthpiece and even better on a 5c, but my endurance was always very sucky. I often only lasted around 45 minutes into practice before some notes became hard to maintain. I looked all over the internet for a large trumpet MP that would suit my needs. I stumbled upon the 24 and I was sold. After doing research I ordered It and I can say with confidence that this is Gods gift for trombone players, or any lowbrass player wanting to play trumpet. Unlike the Wybrid MP, the 24 doesn’t sacrifice any qualities of a trumpet MP to cater to TBone players. I often describe the 24 to my friends as “a mini trombone MP”. It may look small to a lowbrass player but it certainly doesn’t feel that way on the lips. There are so many more lip shapes and movements that you can make with this MP compared to a 7c or 5c ( those are the only other sizes I have used). I will say, this MP does take some time to get used to, but any lowbrass player will feel right at home using this. After using it for 3 weeks now my endurance has went through the roof, I have yet to have my lip die after using this MP. The longest I’ve played using it was 3 hours!!! Viewing this mouthpiece as a high brass player, it is quite a challenge, but the freedom you feel when playing on this MP is unbeatable. This is definitely worth the purchase if you’re doubling on a low brass and high brass instruments like me. Even if you’re not, this is still a fun an awesome purchase. It will provide a unique challenge for high brass players and a comforting feeling for low brass players such as myself. Thanks for reading my review, I hope you have found it helpful in determining if this MP is for you.
