Connected / synced perfectly with sound bar unit, 2 rear speakers, Bravia television, and IPHONE APP ….. set up was seamless, volume control works in remote control or iPhone App. Wonderful enhanced sound from television and surround units. We love it.

We purchased a high end Sony soundbar and found we really needed a subwoofer. The SA-SW3 subwoofer is a great size and can easily be tucked behind a chair or in a small area. With its wireless connection to the soundbar, it can be placed anywhere in the room. No need to run cables except for the power cord. The soundbar quickly found and connected to the SW3. We used the soundbar’s sound setup routine to balance the sound level. We think this is a great value for the money and didn’t need to go to a higher model to get good clarity and sound quality. It’s all black and looks good anywhere you put it. Also, it’s compact and not too heavy. It really improved our listening experience for watching TV and movies. You can’t go wrong with the SW3 to enhance your soundbar experience.

Having read numerous reviews of its larger sibling, I was not expecting too much; meaning: not “too much” booming bass. And that, to my satisfaction, is what I got. This thing paired all by itself via Bluetooth upon electrical power plug-in, and became a balanced member of the system once the built-in equalization process completed (within 60 seconds). Lower range audio nicely — and not overwhelmingly — supplements the Soundbar’s audio. I am not a Gamer, and I watched a range of TV (both broadcast and streamed) before acquiring the Subwoofer; audio not feels well-rounded and still provides adequate “punch” depending upon content.. This will not blow the house down, and levels are still adjustable to override the initial equalization to suit your taste. A very nice addition that doesn’t take up a lot of space or eat into your wallet.

Our previous media setup used a Sony Bravia TV, a Sony receiver, 5 speakers, and a subwoofer. The quality of the sound once this was set up and tuned using the app was incredible. We noticed an immediate improvement and a truly premium audio experience.
We added the Sony SA-SW3 200W Wireless Subwoofer at the same time as the Sony BRAVIA Theater Quad: 16 Total Speakers Home Theater Surround Sound System with 4 Wireless Speakers.
Once you have the setup completed, our entertainment setup is at a new level. We watched Jurrasic World again after testing the sound just because it sounded so good.
If you want a flexible, premium sound experience in the Sony ecosystem, we couldn’t be happier. There are a few caveats to consider.
1. None of the speakers or subwoofer are small. They work in our house but are bigger than we realized when ordering.
2. The app and setup had few usable instructions. The assembly instructions are great.
Download the app and make sure you are logged in and connected to WIFI BEFORE turning anything on.
Flip the speakers to position them. They are NOT interchangeable. I had to move 3 out of 4 not realizing they had position labels on the bottom.
Test everything before wall mounting.
The receiver uses the ARC plug on our Sony TV meaning I’m now one HDMI connection short. You can plug one cable into the receiver and change the receiver input from TV to HDMI to recover the lost port.
make sure you have power to the speakers when adding them.
The subwoofer required two reboots to connect. Once we pressed the Sync button on the back, it connected immediately.
The boxes and units are heavy.
When running the setup. the sound tests are loud and shocking. We weren’t prepared for this. The app instructions said relax during the test which is now even funnier.
Adding the system to Fire TV was very easy. I still haven’t been able to get our Harmony system to switch between the receiver and use the TV for sound now. This is a Harmon configuration issue, not Sony.
Again, you will absolutely notice a sound difference with these speakers. Combined with a 75″ Sony TV and 4K BluRay, we’ve taken couch potato to a new high.

I feel the sony the best … because my earlier home theatre was also from sony only. & My next also will be SONY only

Head to head, the Sony SW5 is superior to the SW3 thanks to the SW5’s both active and passive subs which are also larger than the SW3. HOWEVER, especially when purchasing open box, I was able to purchase TWO SW3’s for less than either stand alone SW5 or on sale single SW3, and 2 subs definitely not only smooth out the bass, but makes your home stereo/cinema sound omni directional so there’s no dead spots. My Sony STR-AN1000 easily synced with both SW3 subs (note – you cannot mix two different subs on the AN1000), and now my bass is smooth/even throughout my living room as I watch Dolby Atmos movies or listen to my favorite music genre on my PS5 Playstation CDs, Pandora, and Sirius XM.
Thus, if you only want one sub and best quality, go for the SW5. However, if you can get two subs, two SW3 are a no brainer especially when buying two heavily discounted open box speakers.

On time delivery and well packaged for transit.
Setup couldn’t have been easier since they are wireless. Plug in the power connection and when my sound bar was turned on it detected the SA-SW3 subwoofer and started the pairing and calibration process. The remote for my HT-A7000 even has a dedicated subwoofer volume control.
Very nice base performance and if you want it to really rumble, it will do that!
