I needed a trumpet voiced in the key of C to perform orchestral excerpts that require it. I also enjoy the timbre of the C-trumpet more than the Bb-trumpet.

The instrument is FANTASTIC. Looks great. Feels great in my hands.Plays in tune. Clear & Sweet tone. The 7C mouthpiece that it came with is quite a good match for the instrument.

The only downside to this instrument’s package is the cheap case. It’s not very roomy at all, and it doesn’t have an option for a shoulder strap. I’m considering purchasing an aftermarket case that can hold more accessories and provides a bit more protection that the one it came with.

Bottom line: I’m so happy that I made this purchase! At the end of the day it’s the sound that matters, and this instrument sounds GREAT!

Pays OK. The first valve seems to stick a little sometimes. I put a couple of small washers under the spring to give it more push. After a few months it will probably wear in and I can take out the washers.

Buying an instrument on Amazon: never again
    This professional musician: very disappointed

I was cautiously excited to buy this because the reviews looked (deceptively) promising, and I was sorely disappointed after pulling it out of the box and playing it. I have a music degree and play trumpet professionally. I have played my fair share of cheap trumpets in my time, but this one definitely takes the cake for being the worst one I have had the displeasure of playing, let alone purchasing.

The tone quality is that of a stuffy party horn, the valves are super hitchy and slow (even after three rounds of nice valve oil), the valve guides prevent the valves from being removed from the casing without considerable force, and one of the valves is sideways in the valve casing. I don’t know what I was expecting from Amazon, but this horn is basically unusable for me. I would rather use the brain cells to transpose on my Bb than attempt to use this horn in a rehearsal, let alone an actual performance. A kazoo would be more playable than this thing in an orchestral setting. I will be returning it presently and getting my money back.

I was skeptical that this trumpet would be playable however I was surprised. I was able to play the descant at church with the organ and was very pleased. There is a minor intonation issue but I could overcome that. I did not have the finances to purchase anything more expensive so this did the job. I highly recommend this instrument.

When I first knew the advantages of a C trumpet, I decided to give this a try. It came with a nice case. The construction was solid. The slides worked well. The valves were noisy but functional. It came with a 7C mouthpiece, but I tested it with a 1E. It handles extreme range notes up to double high C well, and it handles the pedal range, including the “false” notes adequately, even down to double pedal C. For a training level instrument, it’s a keeper.
