This sunblock applicator is part of our every day get ready for school morning routine now. The soft dense brush applies our moderately thick water resistant sunblock very well. I am not getting any complaints from my 6 yr old and he is squirming a lot less. I started using this because his eyes were getting irritated and turning red from sunblock running into his eyes when he sweats. With the brush, I can be a lot more precise. Rather than slathering on a bunch all over the face as quickly as possible while he is scrunching his face and squirming away, I do light gentle strokes with more on the lower part of the face and only extremely light taps above the eye level. And it’s helpful for the neck and collar line as well, to put an even layer and get less on the shirt outside. I still use my hands for his arms and less. Overall, makes the sunblock application in the morning a lot more civilized and less of a fight, so I love it. The case is EXCELLENT to have, it’s actually a must, so it doesn’t pick up dirty stuff once it’s a little sticky with sunblock and I can leave one by the door and carry one.

A bonus is that there are 4, can have one in each diaper bag, in the car, and in the closet for safe keeping in case you misplace others.

In the summer, my preschool aged kids are outside almost all day at daycare so applying mineral sunscreen is part of our morning routine. My kids hate it and always fight with me to put it on and it’s a whole big process with lots of screaming. I bought this to use on their faces thinking it would make the process more enjoyable for them and prevent them from going to daycare looking like little white ghosts. Unfortunately, my kids still hate applying sunscreen and this didn’t help the process or take away the screaming. However, it is a nice product, the bristles are extremely soft, and since the sunscreen is on the bristles, instead of my hands, it helped prevent some of the mess, which is important because mineral sunscreen is impossible to clean. I would recommend these, but I hope your kids aren’t as difficult as mine!

My wife uses them to reapply sunscreen during pickleball games or on other occasions when she’s outside and doesn’t want to get sunscreen on her hands because she doesn’t have access to water to wash it off. I liked the idea of the brush applicator, and it is really soft and gentle on skin, but as soon as I put the sunscreen on and tried to spread it around, the bristles clumped together and some started coming out. I couldn’t keep using it as a result. Due to the small size of the brush, I feel that it would work best on children under 1 year of age, as it takes quite some time to spread the sunscreen and the larger the body, the more time application will take.

These brushes work great! I absolutely hate rubbing in cream sunscreen, but also hate the spay sunscreen, so I usually go for stick sunscreen. However, the stick takes forever for full body coverage. This enables me to use cream sunscreen without rubbing it in with my hands and works SO well. I think it’s better to put the sunscreen on your skin then rub it in with the brush, instead of putting it on the brush directly. I didn’t get sunburnt at all using this to apply sunscreen on multiple vacations (unlike when I’ve used spray sunscreen.) Definitely, 100% recommend these! The photos show what an applicator looks like new (unused) and what the one I’ve been using for a month looks like; it’s held up really well and the slight clumping of bristles hasn’t negatively affected its use at all.

I have been using a make up brush for my pre-schooler who doesn’t like to have his sunscreen rubbed in. It helps, especially on his face. But the brush isn’t covered and I end up cleaning it A LOT. Then it’s wet when I need it or I forget to put it back in our pool bag. I was going to get another make up brush to rotate them out, but I found these instead. First of all, 4 pack solves my problem. But the fact that these can be covered between uses!!!??? WIN!! That is the reason I love them. Kept the sand off at the beach & I can keep one in my door panel of my car along with my “to-go” sun screen bottle. They stay clean between uses and I only have to clean them occasionally instead of all the time.
The bristles are flat, but get into the spaces, like around his nose, just fine. They’re nice and soft. He still doesn’t like it, but he accepts it better than using my hands. The covers stay on when it’s being bounced around in transport. They’re a little on the small side, so if it had been 2 small + 2 Large, they’d be even better. But they do work, especially for face, neck, and ears which are our biggest fights.
