It seems like the A string goes bad on my violin more often than any of the others so I ordered extra just to be prepared and to be able to replace only this one string instead of replacing the entire set. This obviously saves money.

I love these strings but am returning and trying again and hopefully they will send to me in a box with bubble wrap. Strings are very easily bent in an envelope so I highly recommend sending individual strings in a tube or box.

Solid Choice for dependable sound quality and tone. It’s been my choice of strings for years. I’m sure there are new options, but unless someone can make a compelling argument for a different set, I’ll stick to these.

I like the tone quality and the depth and warmth of the string. They also last quite a while without going false and needing to be changed. Use them on my violin G, D, and A strings.

Replaced my A string for the first time since my high school orchestra days(11 years ago) after it broke, and didn’t know what I was missing out on. This string just sounds brighter and nicer.

When I started learning to play the violin 65 years ago, these didn’t exist. Violin strings were either sweet and mellow sheep gut, or harsh-sounding steel. The sheep gut strings were magnificent, but short-lived, and wouldn’t stay in tune with variations in temperature and humidity. Then, some years ago a God-inspired genius developed the “Perlon” string, and there are no finer ones than Thomastik Dominant. They have a nylon core, they have a lovely sweet tone similar to the old gut strings, they stay in tune once broken in, and they are long-lasting. If you can afford them, buy these for your violin. You will NOT regret it.
