Wow, I had not seen this, as I am not a frequent welder. Sure beats flipping the helmet down and moving the tip. This appears to be solar powered by the arc and darkens the moment you strike the arc. It’s a cheapie but does a good job.

The “TOOLIOM Welding Helmet Auto Darkening Solar Powered with Adjustable Shade Range 4/9-13 for TIG MIG ARC Welder Hood Welder Mask” arrived in a timely manner in a labeled cardboard box. The box contained the fully assembled helmet, a drawstring bag, two spare outside spatter shields, one inside scratch shield, one spare lithium battery and the 15 page manual. This is an improved “F” Model with a 9 to 13 automatic color indicating filter, a grind setting to hold off the auto darkening, a large solar cell and CR2450 battery to permit long term storage in dark areas.
Electric arc welding produces a dangerous, bright light. Before the electronic age, helmets were exhausting to use and had interchangeable fixed glass filter shades up to grade 16. This amazing but unobtrusive replacement is as described in online information.
The helmet is black ABS plastic, painted in a patriotic flag style. This serves to remind the user that this is not the traditional, fixed filter, manually closed helmet. Two things present challenges to the user. More importantly, there is no visual indication that the filter setting knob has been left in the “grind” or clear, disabled condition. I would have preferred a flashing yellow LED placed above the viewing surface to indicate the grind setting. In addition, you have to keep Grandpa’s old fixed helmet to get a 14, 15 or16 shade. While this challenge is not mentioned in the instructions, a partial solution has been built in. Inside the helmet, there is a filter holder for old school fixed filters. I have a automatic filter sized for old helmets that snaps right in.
I expect a boost in safety and convenience over my old equipment. The ability to read the color of the melted metal will improve my results. This helmet is a good value for the money.

Used it for the first time yesterday during plasma cutting, welding and grinding. It does it all. The auto darkening technology is really cool.

I bought this to replace an older (but good quality) dark-glass helmet. Trying to accurately weld thin metal with my MIG welder was proving difficult, requiring small bursts of arc repeatedly. Taking a guess where to begin each time was making foe untidy welds.
This helmet is actually lighter weight than the old one whilst still offering the same protection for my face; the head clamp is good and the arm ratchet holds the helmet in place. Don’t try doing the flip-down thing by nodding your head though- doesn’t work with this helmet. Wouldn’t expect it to either.
The reaction time is good, the screen goes really quite clear when it’s off, and how dark it goes is adjustable. Setting it fully dark makes it too dark to see a 40 amp MIG arc clearly.
Overall for occasional use? Most excellent value for money and honestly something I should have bought years ago rather than fight looking through a standard welding mask.

It works, feels cheap (because it is) and everytime I look towards my LED garage lights (not even directly at the lights mind you) it darkens and I have to flip it up defeating the whole purpose of the auto darkening feature. Maybe if you’re welding outside it might not darken but it was a pain in my garage. Anyway, I only bought this because I wanted to weld a hole in my exhaust and my eyes are still healthy so it did it’s job (even on the lowest dark setting using a stick welder)

I work in the Auto body repair industry and I ordered this welding mask for work and Holy cow does it preform! And not mention this looks amazing all my classmates love it. This mask is light wieght and that’s a good thing since I have a injured neck form 2 car accidents. So it beimg light wieght does let put any strain on my neck if am using it for a long period of time while welding body panels on and frame components. When I first ordered it I didn’t know what to expect and tbh I was expecting this to be a bulky mask but im so glad that isn’t the case. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a welding mask. If you are just getting into welding this is the perfect starter mask or if you need an affordable replacement this is the one for you. Even come with a protective bag!
