This app is fairly nice for an average news reader. If you are looking for long, detailed and numorous articles this app wont meet your needs.

This app is more directed at people looking for a.quick read on a current event.

As far as the app goes, it runs very well. I enjoy the fact that the articles change every day always giving you something new to read on. The articles themselves are fairly interesting and I always find at least a few that intrigue me.

The articles themselves are well written but none are long. They are all just a quick read on a current event. They are perfect for anyone looking for a quick update on some current events.

Overall I give it 5 stars because it suits my needs nicely though again that probably wont be the case for anyone looking for many articles to choose from.

My wife likes to follow sports teams on USA Today, so I decided to add this app to my tablet. It downloads and installs without difficulty. The resulting newspaper doesn’t look like the “dead tree version” but it’s quite good, with almost all the content, graphics, and photos of the original paper edition. My wife and I are both quite pleased with the result. Photos and graphics seem to load more slowly than they do from other news sources, but that’s a minor limitation.

Two caveats – First, the USA Today “app version” is not quite as slick or well-implemented as the New York Times online newspaper. On the other hand, it’s free, while the NYT subscription costs an appropriate yearly subscription (which, by the way, is still one of the great bargains available). Second, my own first impression of the USA Today app was very negative. The first evening I looked at the app version of USA Today, it was terrible – almost no photos or graphics, layout more like a spreadsheet than a newspaper, limited content. Maybe I had stumbled upon an evening update, not the actual daily issue. Revisiting the online USA Today 24 hours later, I’m looking at a very nice news application with a number of interesting photos an occasional video, and fairly broad coverage of daily news in “quick read” format. It’s almost better than the paper edition, in my opinion.

View this app for a couple of days before passing judgment on it, and I think you’ll like it a lot.

This USA Today Kindle Fire App is an awesome way to keep up on everything that has happened during the day or week, worldwide. I purchased this app for FREE and have been nothing but impressed. It continually updates with new topics that come up in the news. Since I don’t read the paper and rarely watch the news on television, I get my news from numerous websites; however this app directs me to one place and gives me everything I need. I would rather sit down and read the news on my Kindle Fire than reading it out of a newspaper. This app is easy to navigate since it has the main headlines on its opening page which then you can navigate easily to other specific areas such as sports, travel, money, etc. Another awesome feature is that it allows you to change the font size so it is easier for anyone to read. The video and images that go with articles are excellent and clear which you wouldn’t expect since the Kindle Fire has a larger screen than other devices that allow this app. I would recommend this app to anyone looking for a quick, easy spot to look for the top headlines in many different areas. With easy navigation and good quality articles, you won’t be disappointed with this USA Today App.

A good general news overview with separate sections for Front Page News, Money, Sports, Life, Tech and Travel. Each of those sections are broken further down into sub-categories of news for each section.

I have this app on both my Kindle Fire and Ipad2. Although the news content appears to be the same on each device, readability and ease of navigation between the two versions differs considerably.

I find the Kindle edition difficult to read because of too small a font on a black background. Unlike with Kindle books, there doesn’t seem to be any way in this app to enlarge the lettering or to change the background to white to make it more readable for the individual user. While the black background is very classy looking, I believe it’s also the black background that renders it so difficult to read. For my eyes, at least. I would like it much better and would have given it a higher rating if the news pages had black lettering on a white (or lighter) background. It’s really a strain on the eyes with white lettering and tiny type on the black background.

The Ipad edition is easier to both navigate and to read. The font may not be any larger than that used in the Kindle edition, but lettering is on a white background and, although also small, appears a little larger and is infinitely more readable. I also prefer the Ipad edition’s ease of navigating between sections of the news and specific articles within a section.

When the news article is selected the article is presented on the left side of the screen with blank or advertising space on the fight side. Then as I read the article a pop up ad appears over the article text and makes it impossible to read. The ad indicates that it can be closed by the X in the upper right corner of the blobcking ad. However touching the X does not close the ad. When the ad finally closes and I can continue reading it reappears again and frustrates my reading. There is room for the ad on the right side so please don’t allow the pop up ad to block the text.

A very annoying feature of this app occurs when trying to read a news article and an ad pops up blocking the article text. It is difficult to remove the because the “X ” does not work. When the ad finally disappears it is only for a few seconds, returning to block text again. It seems that there is room on the right side of the screen for the ad, rather than on top of the text. Please correct this persistent problem.
