Honestly was ready to do this myself and had so much trouble I don’t think it worked. Plugs were dry and stiff, wouldn’t thread, couldn’t push into tire and wouldn’t slip out of the threading utensil on the way out… kind of annoying all around

It might have been I had a tighter hole than I expected but even after reaming out the hole, it took all my body weight to shove the plug into the hole.

I ordered this to repair a leak in my lawn tractor trailer tire. The screwdriver-type handles that this product comes with are more difficult to use then the T-handle style. However, this worked for the purpose…. the tire is repaired.

I purchased this kit many years ago, but never had to use yet until today. When I grabbed the insertion tool to insert a rope plug through it I noticed that there was no split on the end of the tool. So, in other words, there would be no way to remove the tool and leave the plug in the tire. See my pics. Terrible quality control. So obviously I wasn’t able to repair my tire with this worthless made in China kit. I’ll be replacing it with a better quality US or Taiwanese metal handled tire repair kit.

The larger T handled version of these tools are more ergonomic and easier to use, but these smaller tools were a better choice to keep my off road adventure motorcycle tool kit as small as possible. There are arguments about whether to use a tube or not. A tube may be a better choice for extreme use (with rim locks), but I’m not doing big jumps or bashing huge rocks. I like the ability to patch the tire on the rim. That’s a huge advantage in the middle of nowhere. I also like not needing to carry tire irons to remove a tire to patch a tube.
The self vulcanizing “bacon strip” patches are a big plus compared to the tubes of liquid goo that are single use because they always dry up soon after opening. I like not needing that mess.
Simple operation:
1) Remove the foreign object that punctured the tire.
2) Use the round rasp to roughen the hole and make it larger.
3) Use the pusher tool to push the doubled patch strip through the hole.
4) Withdraw the pusher, leaving the doubled patch strip in the hole in the tire.
5) Trim the excess patch strip as close as possible to the tire tread.
6) Reinflate the tire.
I chose a quality Blackburn mountain bike pump to accompany this patch kit. It’s more tedious, labor intensive and time consuming than a portable motorcycle air compressor, but it’s much more reliable, smaller, lighter, less expensive, and it works even if the motorcycle’s electrical system is malfunctioning.

I live in a fairly remote location and have to travel roads that are well not kept very well, and have had flats a few times. I recently ended up getting a screw into one of my tires and needed to repair it so I could leave town. I grabbed this kit as it seemed like a good one for the price and am really pleased.
I was able to repair my tire fast and I feel good about the repair as it not something thats just hacked together.
Handy kit to keep in the car for those times when you get a flat or even someone else on side of the road needing to repair a hole.

Este mismo lo compre en un viaje en Texas en esas tiendas de dolar, ese si lo ocupe, y funciona bien para una reparación rápida y poder llegar a tu destino. Al verlo en Amazon sin dudarlo lo compre de nuevo sin importar que ya no costara un dólar. Lo recomiendo y espero que tampoco lo ocupen
