Got a violin with a janky old bridge (see pic). This out of the package was going to be way to high for my violin so I buzzed the feet down a out 75% of the way with a Dremel then using a little olive oil on the placed where the feet would go I was able to assess where I needed to fine sand so they the both feet fit flush on the face of the violin. Worked like a charm and made the violin sound a million times better.

My beginner violin student has those cheaply-made violins from amazon that don’t have properly measured parts, like the bridge. In order for them to not spend more (inflation and such) I decided to buy a better, properly leveled bridge. The Viotti bridge fit nicely and my student doesn’t struggle much with string crossings anymore.

I had to cut and sand the feet to match the body of my violin (standard stuff), but after installing it, I realised that the strings were WAY too close together. I read a previous review of a person hitting multiple strings at once. This will do it. So I shaved it, sanded it and re-grooved it. It’s amazing that some of the strings had to be grooved almost 3mm over from what I received! It works, but it’s not plug and play like it claims. The one good thing, however, is that the sound is louder than my previous bridge. The tone is nice.

Violin is nearly 100 years old and had been bridgeless for a long time because too expensive to replace. A little bit of adjustment was needed to sit the bridge properly. Violin is back in service for practice.

Well, anyone who’s replaced a violin bridge knows there is no standard height, nor foot slope. This one came scarily close on the slope of the feet. It would have been fine had I done nothing. It was also sufficiently thin, which bridge “blanks” are not. I think it sounds better than the rotating feet models, of which I have several. But height of a bridge just isn’t standard. Violin necks cannot be positioned so precisely, and individual players’ preferences will vary. Since the E-string ebony insert is a wedge, it can be substantially reduced or even eliminated by a height adjustment. About half of mine is gone.

Very nice, it is partially fitted although I went ahead and made final fitting and adjustment as would be expected.

My violin bridge broke, replace it with this one, and without doing anything at all it just sounds great. The violin teacher had no complaints.

This is an excellent replacement bridge for a violin. The ebony insert helps minimize the e-string cutting into the bridge. This bridge will require fitting. I have found this bridge fitting tool useful to fit the bottom of the bridge to the exact shape of the violin top:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09DP2SXBD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1
A small piece of 220 grit sandpaper used with the fitting tool allows a perfect fit to the violin top. Hold down the sandpaper with a couple strips of masking tape. Use a pencil to darken the bottom of the bridge and sand down the bridge feet until all the pencil markings disappear. Then the bridge is perfectly fitted to the violin top. I have fitted four of these bridges using the fitting tool.
