I purchased this unit for a rental property. Unfortunately, when the product was delivered by Costco, the shipping rod was not removed. Now that we need to use the washer & dryer, Costco and GE state they are unable to send anyone out to remove the shipping rod. It may be a good washer & dryer. Just beware and do NOT let the shippers leave without removing the shipping rod.

I found that it fills up the basket to the top only if you use this feature. A decent washer and dryer.

I will give zero star but this site won’t let me.
I don’t recommend any GE products. Their service will torture you and take more money from you.
I bought GE washer/dryer but washer did not start. They tried to replace a chip but they found chip was back ordered about 2 months after they said it would be shipped for 2 weeks. So GE decided to replace the unit. The unit arrived but any person GE sent could not install the unit. This process was repeated for 5 times. GE tried another vendor to install but they were booked so they could not come out. GE finally told me to get a local installer and they would reimburse the cost. They could finally installed. I could wash for the first after 2 moths of calling/waiting/frustrations. I got a check from GE reimbursement, $150. I submitted the invoice received from the local installer which was $294. GE said they told they would reimburse up to $150, which I was never be aware nor confirmed. A manager of customer relationships, Tiera said she listens to the recording so this is the end of discussion. I am asking for higher manager but she said she is the highest possible. I spent more than $1000, the product was bad, and GE made me spend more. This is absolutely the worst dealing with any manufacturers, customer services through my life. They don’t care how long, how much their customer is suffered or if the customer feels tricked, or anything. I totally NOT recommend anyone go through this.

First set delivered had to be returned, major damage to dryer. Two weeks later another arrived and installed, thank you. This is the most terrible washing and drying unit I have ever used. We selected this one because it fit into the spot that our old Kenmore set had been in for 20 years. Maybe I am old fashioned but I like my clothes to be covered with water, not just to set there and soak up the water then reeked around for a few minutes then slightly raised and called good. My old machine washed a quilt.. clean and dry… no problem. This machine only wash 1/2 the amount of clothes, leaves soap residue (even if use the special additional rinse option, and heaven forbid if you forget to push the extra button) and barely washes a small blanket. I have been trying to use it for 3 weeks now (use to have 3 loads a week … now takes 6 loads) telling myself it is operator error and I just need to keep trying and adjust my expectations. I foolishly purchased it so I guess I am stuck with it, but be forewarned this new type of washer with its energy efficiency stuff is totally worthless.. repair and stick with your old equipment, you will probably be happier.
