I set this up yesterday, let it sit for an hour, as instructed, ran the cleaning cycle, then started making ice. It’s everything (so far) the ad said, and since the icemaker on our 38 year old SubZero built-in (came with the house) has stopped working, this is an easy answer until it’s fixed. Hopefully, I can figure it out, because repairs on S-Zs are brutally expensive. But, in the meantime since the Sub only makes ice now when it wants to, this is an easy stop-gap.
It is super-easy to set up and use, but wiping out the inside takes some thinner and smaller (not mention more flexible) hands than mine. The drain plug is especially difficult to remove when there’s water in the reservoir. I know the machine is NOT a freezer, unable to store ice, but I do wish the ice was colder and didn’t melt so fast. I would say stick with the large ice, which is still very small, not the small ice, because that melts even faster.
I found it very easy to simply empty the ice-maker’s basket directly into the Sub Zero’s ice drawer. For an inexpensive item, I’m so far very pleased.

Message from seller Ecozy Direct:
Dear Customer,
Thank you for choosing ecozy for your ice maker needs! We’re thrilled to have you as part of the ecozy community and wanted to ensure you have the best experience with our product. Here are some important tips to get you started:
Warranty: All ecozy products come with a 12-month warranty. If you experience any issues within this period, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Handle: Please be cautious when using the handle to carry the machine as it may break. We suggest gently dragging the bottom of the machine with your other hand when using the handle.
First-time use: Prior to the first use, let the ice maker sit on a desk for an hour to deposit the refrigerant. Also, when you turn on the machine for the first time, add water into the tank and press the power button until the LARGE and SMALL indicators flash. This will start a 20-minute self-cleaning session, which can be stopped by pressing the power button.
Ice storage: To avoid melting, we recommend using the included ice bags and standing ice scoop to transfer the ice cubes to the refrigerator for later use.
Ice thickness: To achieve optimal ice thickness, we suggest running the machine for 3 cycles when you use it for the first time. Each cycle takes about 6-13 minutes.
We appreciate your support of our small business and are always available if you need assistance. Enjoy your deliciously cool ice!
Best regards,
Patrick

I’m in love with this new icemaker!! In the past I’ve always used Frigidaire icemaker’s. They’ve been fine, but the lifespan is about two years. When mine broke recently, I started looking on Amazon and found this Ecozy Icemaker. It makes the same amount of ice as my old icemaker but this one has a cleaning cycle as well as a drain to get the water out.(I’m unable to pick up heavy things and have always struggled trying to clean the machine and lift it to pour out the water.) I’m so grateful that they added a drain on the machine. Also, it takes up less space on my counter. The only thing I was say is a con is the stand up scooper. The scooper is much larger so it’s hard to get into the basket to retrieve the ice. (I went back to using the old scooper. And just put a little 3M hook on the side to hold it) But everything else is SO PERFECT!! Ecozy has definitely reimagined and perfected the ice maker.!!

Call me a barbarian, but I don’t have the water and ice thing in the door of my fridge. It was a conscious decision based on the fact that I’d much rather have another cubic foot of freezer space than have ice on demand. My family has adjusted to our primitive living arrangements, but there are times when I need a lot of ice and I need it in a hurry. The ecozy Portable Icemaker is what I use when I need emergency margaritas.
What is it?
A countertop icemaker that cleans itself.
What’s in the box?
ecozy Portable Icemaker
Snap on handle
Removable ice basket
Instructions
Some ice bags
Ice scoop
Setup and features
All you need to do to set up the ecozy Portable Icemaker is snap on the handle, pour in some water and plug it in. I think the hardest part of the setup is peeling off the tape that holds the basket in place. It was kind of awkward because it was in a tight space, but once I got it off, I was in business.
There are a couple of cool features that make the ecozy a great icemaker. First of all, it makes ice in a hurry! It can make nine cubes in six minutes. It made the ice so quickl
y when I was testing it that the ice basket would fill up and then it would stop making ice and the ice in the basket would start to melt. Ecozy recommends removing the ice from the basket regularly and storing it in the freezer to set up because it will melt quickly if you leave it in the unit.
If you’re making a bunch of ice, plan on checking it every 10-15 minutes because you’ll need to empty the basket often. The specs say it can make 26lbs of ice in 24 hours. I believe that is possible with this machine, but I don’t know what lunatic would be checking the basket around the clock.
What I liked
Speed of icemaking
Barely makes a sound
What I’d change
Maybe an audible cue to let me know when the basket is full

We’ve used our ice maker for several days. Making enough to fill an ice cube holder in our fridge/top freezer each day. It took several cycles to get thick hard bullet ice. The second day I emptied the first 2 trays of ice back into the water bin. They were small and thin. From then on they were thick and hard. So third day I started with really cold ice in water bin. Even added a few ice cubes to be sure it was cold. The first cubes made were thick and hard. Not thin and soft. Therefore the colder the water the better the ice cubes from the first cycle. I think we will find this to be something we’ll appreciate, being as we are both ice chewers. Lol and these are perfect chewing size.
