This is my 3rd automatic . OMG , you ask how can it be so great 😀 Well it really is. It is a wonderful reason to wake up in the morning knowing your best coffee is at a toutch of your finger not the $5 a cup from the coffee shop. From the froth to the espresso to the holy Flat White. What can I say , this is my last Super Automatic . I looked at everything for months , reviews , pro and cons , god I feel like a sales guy lol. But Im Not. I am just a guy on. Vancouver Island , B.C. that loves his coffee. My price point was stretched but Worth every penny . Jura S8 is great in every way. My wife loves the Flat White and the easy cleaning. So easy , great looks, worth every penny , And makes your kitchen glow with pride. I also have the small milk cooler on its way . Take care and enjoy. 😊. Nick B.
Update , Yes 👍 ok,ok, The Milk cooler is worth every penny as well. lol Best morning coffee in the Morning, afternoon and evening . Love the cooler , no mess, easy to clean, this is a must. Love it, Just turn my Jura on, Press Flat white and the ultimate Flat white is in my cup. mmmm Yes you can add a little mmm to it . I really have not spent a cent at a coffee shop as my Jura I look forward to enjoying a perfect cup every time. Very happy with my personal Jura S8 station. Take care everybody, Be Safe, Enjoy 😊
May 2024 update , Today Drink count now over 5000, No issues with Jura S8. Reeding comments about cleaning , Yes I clean after every milk drink, If you dont the milk in the lines will clog , only takes a minute to clean your lines , not bad at all . ALSO , The cooler did fail . The info from Jura techs :Do not run the cooler 24/7 it’s only a cooler designed to run 6 to 8 hours “. If you say this they will send a new unit. When the milk freezes up the unit is done , not designed to be repaired . Kinda weird but the way it is . Enjoy

Highly recommend this coffee maker. Besides regular coffee it makes delicious expresso, cappuccino and latte. Because of the complexity of the machine, it requires reqular cleaning of the frothy milk system. It can be used with a variety of coffee beans. Good product for people who love a variety of fresh coffee.

ECS was good to buy from. Fulfilled well by Amazon.ca.
First, the coffee it produces is divine. The milk drinks are exceptional and if you just want a shot of espresso, probably not much better from a bean to cup machine.
It also looks spectacular in your kitchen.
It has a few idiosyncrasies with the touchpad (‘take finger off glass’ when steam rises from milk frother and fogs the display), and it’s not the most intuitive interface.
The milk frother spout broke 6 months in. Replaced under warranty (plus shipping).
The only real downside is the incredible amount of maintenance that no one, not even the YouTube ‘reviews’, tell you about. And the ridiculous price of filters, parts, cleaning materials, etc.
I expected to do milk maintenance. No problem, although the massive red reminder on the screen as soon as a milk drink is completed is CYA overkill! I clean at the end of everyday. That’s fine and maintains the cleanliness.
The cleaning tablets are pricy. Once a month for those. The Jura milk cleaning liquid is very expensive. I use Rinza at half the price. That’s still $26 a month to clean the milk system and a couple of bucks a cleaning tablet.
But, it’s the Clearyl filters you have to use with the RFID chip in them that are ridiculously expensive. Works out to one a month—about $28 each! Nonsense. And about $30 to change the food-grade silicon milk tubes.
So, it’s about $750 a year to run (About 15 lattes a week). Before coffee purchase!
That’s a lot! Keep that in mind.
So, yes, that maintenance is onerous, the running cost exorbitant, and parts are very expensive. But, the coffee (we use Lavazza Super Crema) is unreal. And worth it for us. YMMV.

My old Jura Espresso Maker finally expired, and off I went to buy a new machine. My first stop was Amazon. I had a very good experience with my old machine so I figured I’s start there. I looked at Miels, and I went on to look at Juras. One Jura with a much lower price caught my eye. I looked for ‘used’ but it only said it was ‘open box’ but ‘never used. I decided to go with the ‘never used open box’. and purchased the product. The machine is beautiful, and I was able to set it up with minimal reading of instructions. The grinding system is fantastic – I make two espressos together.; the old machine would just add water, but no grounds. This new machine makes two true espressos, super strong -the way we like. This machine is simple to program and easy… the only thing missing is voice command! This Jura ES 8 is amazing, and the deal I received for the open box is fantastic!

I bought this machine to replace my Jura C3000 i had for 15 years. Yes – 15 years of service – i did fix it up few times, but the Jura machines are very reliable, and parts and YouTube videos make it easy to fix little things (and some big ones like Service 8 code too). This is the only reason i splurged and spend $4000 for a coffee maker.
It does work very well, and I do enjoy the coffee drinks. I like the possibility to set your own “custom” drink. (Mine is a full strength/ flat white with 6 sec of added milk)
Coffee tastes great and no issues there. The touch screen is sometimes unresponsive (no… it is not dirty) and icons are small for fat fingers like mine.
Cleanup is bit cumbersome. The included container is helping. Water container is OK size and coffee bean hopper is OK (both could be bigger but both OK) the water container and coffee hopper are accessible from the top so I need to pull entire (heavy) machine from under the cabinet to fill them.
Filters and chemicals are crazy expensive and you cannot use aftermarket (filter is RFID and machine “knows” the old from new – I was using old filter twice on my old Jura as I only use filtered water to fill the tank anyway) I do use the machine in a home setting and not in commercial setting but need to replace filter every <2 weeks – it is not a huge deal but it adds up – Box of "pearls" to clean the milk system and 4 filters will cost you 100$ … maybe I am not the target market for this machine and should by MrCoffee instead. and yes… I would recommend this to a friend 🙂

Makes great coffee and is easy to use

Despite the fact we performed all exploitation recommendations, and clean the machine constantly, the machine stopped working less than 3 months after purchase. There is no easy way to contact the seller, and we need to bring the coffee machine to another city for repair and pay our money.

This machine does a wonderful job brewing coffee. The use of this machine is efficient and easy to clean.

We use this machine everyday 3or 4 times a day and it’s a fantastic. Love the different features and the simplicity of the unit. The only down side is the coffee is not as hot as I like to drink my coffee but I just microwave it and it’s perfect!

This product might be made in Switzerland but so far I can’t say that explains the production design, quality, or software engineering.
I receive a brand new machine two days ago. Finally had time to set it up yesterday. Followed all of the instructions for first use and the third step is to insert the included Clearyl water filter. The machine doesn’t recognize the filter…the screen is just stuck on “Insert filter.” There is no “back” button, there is no “skip” button (very poor interface design). There is no error code. There is just no way to get past that screen. Power cycling does nothing to change the situation.
I ordered a replacement filter thinking it might be a defective RFID chip on the supplied filter. That new filter arrive today with one day delivery. Same thing. “Insert filter.”
I’ll give this one more shot by calling Jura customer support tomorrow (they’re only open 9-5 M-F EST, which is not great for those of us in other time zones). I’m pretty sure this machine is headed back to Amazon over the next couple of days as I don’t have much faith in Jura to solve this over the phone since the setup routing has been designed to REQUIRE that a water filter has been installed otherwise the interface is completely useless. This is true even though the machine can be used without a filter but I guess that’s only an option AFTER you’ve completed setup…which requires you to install a filter!
Swiss quality? I don’t think so. Should have bought a Miele. Or any of the “metal” machines from Italy. Heck, even Breville build their machines with stainless steel shells and steam wands.
