I recently tested the Vitamix Ascent X2 through the Amazon Vine program and was immediately impressed. As my first venture into the world of high-end blenders, the Ascent X2 stands out with its user-friendly controls and exceptional performance. Previously, I hesitated due to the price and my infrequent use of blenders, but this machine has become a fixture in my kitchen, perfect for daily smoothies and shakes.

The self-cleaning feature is a game-changer—just a quick soap and water cycle, and it’s spotless, removing the usual hassle of cleanup. The sleek design fits beautifully with my kitchen aesthetics, particularly in white. It blends ingredients smoothly, handling everything I throw at it with ease, truly a notch above any blender I’ve owned.

The price tag is hefty at $549, making it a significant investment, especially for casual users like myself. My only gripe is the tamper holder; it tends to come loose, which can be a minor annoyance. Despite this, if the cost isn’t a deterrent, I highly recommend the Ascent X2—it might just be the last blender you’ll ever need.

I got the Vitamix Ascent X2 Blender to replace the Explorian model that I got from Costco a few years ago. I really want to replace my blender and food processor with a single appliance, and the Explorian is not compatible with the food processor attachment. I also wanted something more compact, and the 48-ounce container of the Ascent X2 is the perfect size for my needs. The carafe is perfectly sized for 2 large or 3 small smoothies.

So far, I am loving everything about the X2 model. From its more compact footprint to its sleek design, it is a good-looking addition to my appliance garage. The X2 has all the power and convenience you expect from a Vitamix: powerful motor, super sharp blades, dishwasher safe. It also comes with a self-clean mode, which is basically a timer for swirling soapy water around in the blender carafe, which you can do on your own.

One new feature is that it has a master power switch in addition to the “on/off” and “pulse” toggles. With the old model, sometimes the unit would get turned on when I took it out of the drawer, and the motor would run as soon as I plugged it in. The master power switch addresses that. The controls are pretty intuitive, and the presets are convenient.

The X2 is quieter than the Explorian, but I wouldn’t call either of the models quiet, but the noise doesn’t really bother me. I am saving up for the food processor attachment and look forward to giving the X2 base a try with it.

If you have owned or had the opportunity to use a Vitamix in the past you already know that it is widely considered the best brand out there for home blenders. I used my family’s old Vitamix for years, and when I moved out on my own I bought the 5200 model. I’ve used it to make smoothies, healthy shakes, soups, hummus, cocktails, peanut butter, cashew butter, etc. It’s an incredibly important staple that I have in my kitchen, and I foresee myself having it for at least a decade.

That said, I was given the privilege of being able to order this new Vitamix Ascent X2 Blender through the Amazon Vine program.

The Ascent X2 is considered the lowest end of the new series (X2, X3, X4, and X5 which all get progressively more expensive). The X2 does an incredible job. It is really powerful, like all Vitamix blenders, and it also has three pre-set blending programs, a digital timer, and a section on the base that makes it easy to store the tamper (which I love from a design perspective). This series has a sleek design that feels modern compared to older Vitamix models, and I’m happy to say they perform comparably.

When comparing it to my older Vitamix it’s actually a little shorter than my 5200, which I thought was a plus due to limited storage space, and it is really easy to clean.

The only downside to it is price. It runs around $550 brand new. If you already own a Vitamix that performs well I don’t see the point in getting a new one like this, but if you don’t, this is well worth it.

    5/5. Highly recommended.
