Love Wanted to Know –
Bought these because the price was half of the big camping box store’s! And I’m not regretting it! If you need a basic cooking utensil, tongs, knife, serving spoon, it’s all there and only weighs a few ounces. Like all Gerber products, this is a well designed and thought out set that will let you take what you need and keep the weight off your pack.

This is a product that I fully believe in.
I mean, the fork sucks but that’s whatever. Still works. I believe in this product so much that I bought a set for my nephew and my wife. It’s versatile.
The tongs works great for cooking and serving, the spoon also works great for cooking, serving and eating. The spatula is great for cooking and cleaning. You won’t have to worry about damaging your pans.
Do yourself a favor, if you’re a backpacker that doesn’t mind a little extra weight, buy this product and enjoy it.
It’s not even heavy, but ultralighter folks might consider this thing to be heavy.
10/5, highly recommended.

As a set it’s a great on the go set. Sure it’s not as compact as some other options. But the way they all lock together is great! And you have the option of locking either the spork or the spoon to the spatula and turning them into tongs! It’s a great feature that I was surprised at how often I used!

These things are not cheap, and that’s the basis of my peers mocking me. Yes, I paid that much for camp utensils. Oh, your MRE spoon broke? Mine didn’t. What do you mean nobody has a can opener? I do. Makeshift tongs? Got it. Vegetable peeler? … Okay the veggie peeler tool on this thing is garbage, use your pocket knife. But when you’re camping or on a field exercise, you’re wildly unlikely to break it, you’re definitely not going to melt it in boiling water (sorry MRE spoon), and because of how it’s made, super easy to clean for the next time you need it. Minus the so-called vegetable peeler tool, love this thing. Would buy again, except that I can’t seem to break the first one.

I purchased this for a recent Boundary Waters tip and it worked out amazingly well. The fork and spoon worked well for both cooking and eating. The spatula (while a bit small) worked well on making scrambled eggs and mac n cheese. The really great thing about it is you can hook the fork (or spoon) into the spatula and turn it into a tongs. For the first night out we packed in some steaks and the tongs worked very well at flipping them. A quality product that did what it was meant to and then some.

This camping utensil is really a breakthrough idea. I’m sure most of us have used various stacking utensil sets before. Often they’re heavy and easily bend, but they do save a little space and help keep your pack more organized. What sets this kit apart is that the spoon or spork can attach to the spatula to make tongs.
I’ve used these to cook and eat all sorts of meals at camp. The spatula is small, so it isn’t much good at turning larger pieces of food. But used in conjunction with the spoon or fork as tongs, you can grip most food items to easily turn them over. The only problem is trying to turn over fish or hash browns, but I can eventually get the job done a bit at a time. The spatula is a rigid nylon with a soft, silicon edge good for stirring tomato sauce and scrambled eggs. But I can foresee the nylon softening if exposed to high heat. An improvement would be making the spatula out of titanium, but the necessary machining would likely double the price.
You can also mate the spoon with the spatula to make a long-handled spoon that’s ideal for getting to the bottom of freeze-dried meal packets without getting your fingers messy.
I’m not a fan of sporks, and the one in this set hasn’t changed my opinion. A spork is a poor fork married with an almost useless spoon. In this case, since the set already includes real spoon, a definite improvement would be to include a real fork instead of the spork.
The set also includes a multipurpose tool that can open cans and bottles, cut cordage and peal vegetables. I think all of us carry some kind of knife or multi-tool that can handle these functions. The tool has sharp edges that can cut and wear on your gear. I think this tool could be eliminated without diminishing the overall value of the utensil set. If not, then some kind of cover should be added to protect the sharp edges.
Overall, I’m happy enough with this set that I bought four more for my sons, daughter and son-in-law. Everyone is pleased with their utensils, though the all made many or all the same observations for improvement.

Estos cubiertos son una chulada!! ocupan poco espacio, son resistentes porque son metálicos y muy útiles. Estoy segura que durarán mucho tiempo.
Creo que voy a pedir otro juego.

It took me a minute to figure it out and put it back together, my bad for not reading the instructions.
The fit is super tight and watch your fingers with the peeler when you put it back or it will slice you. Weight is as light as it can get and very sturdy. Everything has a purpose and the length is just right for eating out of pouches or cooking over a fire. The spoon is shallow enough to cereal out of and the spork is design to actually stab and pick up food. Tongs work ok if you gotta grab a hot dog, I wouldnt try to lift a fish with it if it was flakey.
All and all Gerber made a perfect utensil unit that is absolutely worth the money.
Would buy again but not because it broke, it’s just that bad ass a tool.
