The best headlamp in the world love it got 2 of them

I use this light daily for my job, it takes a beating and keeps going and the battery is very impressive it will last all of the 16 hour shifts depending on the usage.

I use this headlight at my industrial job so it’s attached to a hard hat. I have been in the industrial field for over a decade now and let say I’ve run through my fair share of headlight. When it comes to this particular headlight I’d have to give it a pass as a decent headlight but it has some areas it needs to be polished.
Pros if left on medium it will last a long time. Its is bright enough and it’s pretty sturdy. And I love that you can easily replace and swap batteries.
Cons
I think the magnetic thing is a little gimmicky but to each their own. I hate that it has a turbo mode that’s annoying to use and only last a short period then turns off? Why even have it if it won’t support it? It’s like having a car that can go 200 mph but only once. Then use the turbo mode as the measure of lumens? Total scam to me. Now how bright is it at high? They claim its 1000 lumens but my milwaukee headlight rates at 600 lumens is superior is both brightness, how far it reaches and in color which doesn’t matter to much. Honestly I would stick with the Milwaukee headlight if it wasn’t always breaking down all the time. It keeps killing batteries even if they are less then 2-4 months and for $100 that’s not cool. So time will tell if this product last but I can bet you physically it definitely will. Also it’s a heavy light and that’s a minor negative
Conclusion. The headlight is relatively decent let see how it does over time.
Edit I have had this headlight for about a year now and I have zero complains about it. It works every time. It still needs to be polished a little more but overall it has been very reliable and long lasting. I adjusted the rating to five to reflect the quality. If it broke today I would get another one.

Sehr gute Qualität. Danke

It’s exactly what I needed! Super long battery life comparing to Milwaukee. Super bright! I love the build quality!

This light works great. It is bright, but the 2075 lumens was misleading. That is only for short burst of light around 30 seconds I think. Not all the time, but it is still bright and gets the job done. I am satisfied with it.

Love this light. I’m an Industrial Maintenance Technician and I’ve been through many headlamps and this one has been the best so far. Super bright, battery lasts a long time. Only downfall is the weight of it. It’s heavy enough it will constantly pull the front of your hardhat down so your constantly adjusting your hardhat.

The light is great. Bright and rechargeable. Love the magnet.
However. It is very heavy. After a while my neck gets tired and I can’t wear it anymore that day. Wish they would put a battery on the back to counterbalance the heavy front.
The 1200 lumen is much lighter and almost as bright.

I work with tools sometimes in dark places and the little Energizer headlamps were not cutting it for me anymore. I bought this headlamp and boy do I love it, it’s super comfortable as far as the headband goes and the light is not too heavy bright as I need it in the first mode and recharges pretty quick. I don’t think you could beat it for the price

This is mainly a review of the Coast XPH34R. However I do also somewhat review the Coast HL8 by comparison.
Both of these products are quality items which I own.
The HL8 is an earlier model with a lower light output. The advantage of this light is it will take AA batteries, and can be equipped with an optional rechargeable battery at extra cost. It is also in my opinion an more comfortable light to wear if you are not using a hard hat. The portion of the light that rests against your forehead seems larger, and the light is lighter.
The brightness on the HL8 is easily adjustable with a 3 position rotary switch.
This light is mainly a plastic build, but well made, and that may be why it is lighter.
The XPH34R is primarily a metal product. It seems to be precision machined. It is designed to be used with Coasts lithium battery made for this product, and works well, is very bright. It is not as comfortable as the HL8 because it is heavier, and it appears that the area of the light that rests against the forehead is smaller, so more weight on a smaller area. This potential problem (not everyone will find it a problem) could be mitigated by using it with a hard hat. Coast provides a battery carrier which can be inserted in lieu of the rechargeable battery that takes AAA cells. I do not think AAA cells would last very long in this product, so you might want to get a spare rechargeable.
You adjust the brightness of this product by a series of button presses. The light starts in medium mode. To set on high, press the button twice. To set on low, 3 times. The turbo mode can be activated by holding the button down for two seconds. I actually prefer the mechanism of the HL8 for setting brightness, but unless you are changing this often, the button presses should work fine.
I like both these products and rate them 5 stars. However, be aware that while the XPH34R is pitched as a 2075 lumen light, this is ONLY in turbo mode, which shuts off after a very short time, and goes to a lower brightness… I assume to protect the light from heat damage. I can not find this detail in the light specs or description, but it is in the Q & A on the Coast website re this product… so I would rate the description as a little misleading.
It has been my experience that Coast honors its lifetime warranty. I am a bit of a Coast-a-holic, (I have lots of their products), and have replaced two of them under warranty, which has been hastle free, and one reason I keep coming back for more.
I wish they made cars.

Very disappointed. The torch has broken just outside the month return window. It won’t charge and the Coast branded rechargeable battery that comes with it is roughly half the cost of the overall unit. The battery doesn’t appear to be sold within the UK and cant be shipped to the UK. This is far too expensive a torch to fail so soon. I have had much cheaper head torches that lasted years.
