I dunno how I made it without this headlamp.

I love Petzl headlamps but this model is not great because they are trying to justify a higher price by adding unnecessary, and quite honestly, annoying functions.
Does not turn off right away when you press the button. Has a delay-off feature. When you turn it off, it goes dim and you have to wait a few seconds for it to go dark.
Flashes at you if you use it for more that 2 or 3 minutes continuously. It does not stay as a solid beam of light. Periodic and unwanted flashing is super annoying and makes me not use this light. I have gone back to is using my old Petzl that is really beaten up with a stretched strap but just works as you would expect
Don’t pay the extra money for a light that is annoying..

Same price as my Black Diamond, but eats battery real quick and no dimmer for color…. real bummer, will stick with Black Diamond.

Batteries last really long. The R,G,B functions are easy to use. Those colors are also rare. Super bright and light weight.
Anthony L. Leiding –
Great for camping or performing repairs in low light areas

Swivel Mount FAILED after 6 weeks – Made in Malaysia – NOT FRANCE

What a great bit of kit.

Not waterproof. I use in wet conditions and it stops working, or it will work but have a mind of its own turning off, or brightening, or changing colors, before stopping working again anyway. Fortunately if I dry it out it and swap out the batteries it will work again.
Another issue is I have to change the batteries every time I use it and they still try to die on me sometimes. This is a couple hours in the morning, shouldn’t be having issues. In other products I’ll put batteries in and just forget about them, but not with this one. I have to remember to bring the headlamp and spare batteries. I thought petzl was supposed to be a quality product. Clearly not the case here.

Another great example of a Petzl headlamp that will last for decades. From what the reviews say, this Aria more or less is the spiritual successor to the years when the TacTikka design was actually durable and waterproof as well as impact resistant. Nice rubber trim and button so you can feel what you are doing. It cycles through modes perfectly and really does have superior brightness over the older designs. The only thing that feels odd at first is for adjusting tilt, the rotation points are at the front of the housing, meaning you tip the rear of the unit up to point the beam down, and vice versa. After you get used to that quirk, it is pure Petzl goodness, like it has been for decades.

Won’t buy anything also but Petzl. They are the best and work great.
