I like it, but itโs too big. Going to have to return

Makes the ice pretty fast! Was exactly what I expected! The ice reminds me of the chic fil a ice or sonic ice!

Arrived not making ice. Being an HVACR tech I found current relay unplugged from compressor. Made repairs and works perfectly now. Shipped on its side from Amazon. Needs to be shipped upright as much as possible. Would gave 5 stars if item worked upon arrival.

I’ve have this ice make for a while now and it’s been very reliable. You should follow the instructions for first use, but after that, it’s easy to use. You just need to fill the top water tank with water and turn it on. It’s does take but 20min to start seeing ice dropping into the ice tray. It takes about 4hrs. to fill the ice tray. The ice is just fun to snack on by itself or with your favorite cold drink.
The ice maker was able to keep up with making ice continually for our family gatherings.
The only drawback is the size of this icemaker. It’s huge! So, I only use it for special occasions. It definitely makes a statement. If it was smaller, I think I would keep it out all the time on the kitchen counter. Other than that, I love it and its easy to clean.

So this machine makes amazing ice nuggets. I like to chew ice, and these make it so I don’t break my teeth. Yay for that. 5/5 stars for the nuggets alone. Restaurant style and quality ice nuggets.
However while it makes a large amount of ice, I quickly found that after it is done making the ice, the machine turns off. And yeah, the ice just melts. By the time I move the ice to a bucket or container to stick in the freezer, it is still melting for a while so when I go to scoop it out of the freezer, they are melted together. I had to get an ice pick to separate the nuggets.
Would have been 5 of 5 stars if the machine kept the ice cool/frozen after making it. That is the only reason it is a 4. Still love it.

I own the GE Profile Opal 2.0 w/ side tank. It makes fabulous ice. However, it is a pain to operate (whomever designed the controls needs to go back to school), clean, and every odd cycle, the motor will seize and make a horrible screeching noise. In short, the quality of the Opal 2.0 is poor. When it works just right, the ice it produces is amazing. But, I’m positive it will fail long before it should and at ~$600, that’s a lot to pay for poor quality.
I purchased the Frigidaire EFIC237 Countertop Crunchy Chewable Nugget Ice Maker as a gift for a vacation home where I frequently stay. Right out of the box, it was pure simplicity. Intuitive controls, pretty quiet (it is an ice maker, so it will make noise), and quickly (faster than Opal 2.0) makes a lot of good ice. The ice is not quite as soft as the Opal 2.0. However, for $329, it’s a quality machine that makes good crunchy ice. I’d recommend this machine. Wish the GE Opal 2.0 would redesign their machine to operate like the Frigidaire.

We had a much more expensive unit fail from GE, after just 2 years. I opted to try this one based on written reviews. It is a very noisy unit and I had read that. I didn’t realize just how loud and strange it would sound. Sadly the deal breaker for us is the ice itself. It’s just not as “soft” as my family likes. Yes they are quite picky about how much crunch it has(this one makes harder ice). I admit that this machine is super easy and quite functional. Sadly we were spoiled by the previous machine(opal) so the standard has been set. I guess the extra $$ was worth it after all….

I wanted easy – this machine is exactly that! I got so tired my refrigerator couldnโt keep up with the amount of ice used in my house. So we would go without ice and it drove me nuts. Purchased this ice maker and itโs amazing! It makes ice quickly and itโs the perfect nugget type! Perfect for drinks and coffees!! I use a gallon of water to refill it every day and a half โ but donโt forget, I said we use a TON of ice! You do hear the motor, but it isnโt that bad IMO. This is a major NEED for your house!
