An understated classy timepiece. The steel black comes off more of a gunmetal than straight black, which I prefer. It wears quite small for a 44mm case and comfortably sits on my 7″ wrist with the end links laying flat with no odd gap! I think it wears/looks small because of the small dial, crowded with small chronographs.
-The bracelet is that same gunmetal color with center links that are more polished, giving them a lovely darker contrast. The clasp is brushed gunmetal accented with a polished arm bar and etched Bulova logo…I love that the clasp also has a hidden extender to make it easier to get over your hand when putting on/off.
-The dial is a bit busy and small for a 44mm, due to a larger chapter ring. It looks very nice but can be a strain to read. Beautiful wave texture in the center, sharp red second hand and decent lume. Bezel is a bit stiff. Crown is not screw down and is protected nicely with two crown guards. Movement is Japanese quartz (band made in China).
-Overall, a very nice watch…It wears dressy with an understated classiness. I admittedly am not a huge chrono fan but this one is growing on me. The black (gunmetal) is well done. The watch has a nice heft to it without being cumbersome. It was a bit rattle-y until I made the proper micro adjustments for a snug fit. A bit pricey for a quartz with Chinese parts, but the name is part of it’s price.

Very cool watch with mostly excellent fit and finish in a color scheme that is unusual enough to set it apart from other chronometers.
Band is quite large out of the box, and almost everyone will end up removing a few links. And, boy, what a chore that will be! Link pins feel like they’ve been cemented in place. And between 2 Bulova watches I received the same week, I managed to bend or break the points on 8 pin removal tools trying to get the pins out. Finally, I gave up on the press I would normally screw the tools into and took to hammering them out with a manual tool handle and smallest hammer in my arsenal. Crazy!
There is a micro adjustment on this particular watch band. But in a weird case of poor design you won’t be able to use it in the narrowest position because it makes the dive extension foul the watch clasp when you try to open or close it! Also pretty crazy!
What I ended up doing instead is removing 3 links (the most I’ve ever removed from a watch band) and used the micro adjustment to then make the band just a hair larger. At first glance I thought I might be able to remove the half links that attach the band to the clasp ends, but that would be a no go from an end user’s perspective and I’m not even sure a watchmaker could do anything with the one that attaches to the dive extension.
Another oddity worth mentioning that seems to be exclusive to Bulova watches (I’ve not seen this on any other brand yet) is setting the date. It’s changed by pulling the crown out to the first stop, as you would expect with any (other) watch, but then you have to turn the crown COUNTER CLOCKWISE to get the date to change.

I have several Bulova watches, and always get compliments on them. Specifically to this watch, the band diameter seemed longer than previous link bands I’ve purchased. I have an average size wrist, so I always have to take out links anyway. I’m only noting this for potential buyers that if you have a large wrist, this watch would be a very good option.

GRAN DISEÑO Y CALIDAD

This item did not appear to be new. As I plan to give it as a gift, I am probably going to return it. The actual watch looks OK. But for such an expensive item, it should be in pristine condition.
