The only thing that doesn’t quite work on this helicopter is the extendable support for the rear wheels. Because of the weight of the motor and everything , the wheels’ support struts are prone to falling back into the collapsed position ( positioned as if in flight). Not a huge deal but I wonder if there was a way around this issue in the build development

This has been one of my favorite Lego Technic builds. There are so many functional parts in such a compact design. If you or someone you know is looking for an engaging model with many features, this is a great option. It also includes the battery pack and motor to power the rotors, winch and landing gear.

This is great for any kid. My son is autistic and can barely use scissors but he builds Lego technic models without breaking a sweat. One of the few activities he can do without being distracted. He only needs me to keep him from skipping steps, and help with stickers. All of the functions of this model are awesome- landing gear, winch and rotors. A pretty good analog for the actual mechanics of a helicopter, too. The yokes control a pseudo-swashplate to change pitch and the rotors have two speeds. I would have been thrilled with this thirty years ago when I was in the lego zone. Power transmission and gearboxes are much improved since then- Legos are still expensive but unlike every other company, it seems like they actually still care about quality. Parts are as robust as ever. If I’m going to go broke, it might as well be from buying toys that are actually used and are intellectually stimulating.

ย You can use finger to control the York or the shaft (whatever itโs called) to control the blades, just like the real heli. Itโs very cool!
Not sure if we made a mistake, but when landing gear and the hook reach limits, the motor or the gear box is clicking. It would be better it doesnโt make that noise. But itโs a minor issue for me.

Lego all the way. Super duper cool. Loved the build, the looks, the experience. Cheers

Quite a complicated build. Loved it.

This set has all you would ask for from technic. Functions, gearboxes. It even adds new parts that make the rotor functions very realistic.

could not get rotors to rotate and front wheels would not stay down

Awesome to build!

Ele amou muito. Um nรญvel de dificuldade um pouquinho acima do que ele costuma montar mas valeu a pena.

Purchased as a gift. Well received. Took a good weekend to assemble. Can be tricky if you are not patient and do not follow the directions as indicated. It is not for someone who is easily frustrated. Directions are clear and the pieces are divided into specific bags to help with building. The best features are the similarities to the actual helicopter and the overall detail LEGO provides. It has working landing gear, rotors and winch. Once assembled the blades work and it is realistic. Does require batteries. The piece itself is big so be prepared to have space to place. Lots of little pieces so be careful around little ones and pets. Hopeful LEGO comes out with other technic aircraft with that level of sophistication. LEGO did not disappoint! Love it!
