At first it was a little frustrating to figure out how to connect to my phone, as our wifi is pretty in and out. But once I found the spot where the Wi-Fi would connect, it was super easy to set up and get it up and running. The appearance is super sleek looking, and the quality is very durable and holds up perfectly even after being dropped a few times. I haven’t traveled with it yet but plan to take it when we go to the beach for a week since it’s super portable and just requires a simple plug in chord to work. The night light works great and has perfect dimming and brightness for the light. The only thing I wish is that the night light would turn on by a touch instead of a button which is too hard to see at night. I wish I wouldn’t have to get my phone out to turn the night light on in the middle of the night, but it’s still super convenient with the color options (we use the red since it blocks melatonin disrupters) and ability to easily change the brightness. Would recommend! It’s very easy to control and turn on from our phone which makes it super convenient and is very versatile with the different noise options that it has.

This is the second one we have bought, the first stop working on us maybe 8 months in after using it day and night, however still repurchased hoping the second will last us longer. I enjoy having the different options for sounds and having the light. The time display is very handy for knowing what time it is in the middle of the night with a fresh baby, would recommend. Very user friendly

UPDATED 7/19/24 After posting the original review (see below) the company reached out to me to make it right. I was sent a replacement and it has been such a better experience this go around. The replacement functions as designed, it’s relatively user friendly. Only downside is the constant reminders to purchase the paid portion, which I knew going into this would be the case. Regardless, I’m definitely more pleased with this product now than I was.

I wanted to love this as much as everyone else. Unfortunately that’s not been the case, all its brought is frustration. The first week it worked great and we were customizing it to match our schedules. After that first week it all went downhill…it completely stopped making sound, then it started being unresponsive to touch, followed by randomly changing colors, turning on, or turning off… We tried all the troubleshooting steps we could find to correct the issues but nothing has helped. Of course we spent too long troubleshooting and trying to make it work that we missed the return window so now we have a glorified paperweight that occasionally lights up.

I originally bought the Hatch sound machine for myself, not for a baby, and now I can’t imagine sleeping without it. This device is simply the best thing ever created for peaceful sleep.

I have found that it does help my baby learn times to sleep vs times to wake. I love all the options of sounds and songs. The “Yuki says good morning” is such a sweet morning wake up song. The sound quality is great. The ability to turn it on remotely has helped greatly as we’ve discovered that when our 22 month old wakes in the night upset, we can turn a red light on his hatch very dim and it calms him down quickly and he’s able to go back to sleep on his own. The only thing I would have changed if I had known it was an option would have been to spend a little more and get the version that sits on a back up battery charger. A few times when our power went off while our son was asleep, it cut off the white noise which woke the baby up.

I was having trouble sleep training my baby and this has been a game changer! There are different sounds you can change it to and you can also change the lights. The versatility is amazing. It also displays the time which is very helpful. The size is great to give a nice ambiance to the room. Very easy to change the volume. You can change the sound setting with just a tap! Works miracles for helping your little ones sleep better at night.

Update- hatch stands by their product and has great customer service. They sent me a new hatch after my issues with the one we bought. I dont know if it will work better yet, but any company that follows up with a replacement gets 5 stars from me!
Kids love it for bedtime- they can pick the color/sound/brightness. I had bought the hatch + subscription for a year (maybe it is called premium, I forget). The stories were amazing and my kids LOVED listening to one at bedtime. It also had some great bedtime music. However, strangely enough if my Ring camera is connected to wifi, our Hatch turns off after a few seconds of connection. This has been ongoing since we set it up in November and there is literally no fix (except turning off the Ring camera connection, which should have nothing to do with the other). So if yours will function correctly, it is well worth the price! In our case, it has caused a lot of frustration and bedtime meltdowns!

It was a little hard to connect at first but their CS was great on following up once I got it connected. My baby is going through a sleep regression and no one was getting sleep at home. Now he’s starting to settle back into a routine and he knows when the sound machine turns on it’s time for bed. We couldn’t be happier !
