I bought this last minute hoping it would help with the July 4th fireworks. I have a corgi who is extremely sensitive and reactive to sounds in general. Instead of hiding and crouching in a corner, he runs around like a mad man while barking his head off. I’ve tried CBD chews to no avail and didn’t want to spend $$$ on dog head phones (which also have mixed reviews), so I decided to see if this would help. Well, it didn’t – he could still hear the fireworks (and mind you, the ones we hear in our house are mostly muffled). It is essentially an infinity scarf for dogs worn around their heads – the material is thick, but not thick enough to actually dampen noises. I bought a size large which fit him fine but every time he shook his head, it would scoot down to his neck. I don’t think a smaller size would’ve helped. Next time I think I’ll just drive to a quieter town with no fireworks instead of trying another “noise dampening” product.

The happy hoodie works pretty good for my pup. She doesn’t seem bothered by the fireworks anymore. As a reference my pup weighs 14 pounds and it fits her well. It’s nice and soft and stretchy, but not too stretchy to where it won’t stay on. It’s lightweight and easy to use. It’s easy to adjust and the material is made of good quality. If you’ve got a pup that doesn’t like fireworks, thunder, loud music or loud noises, I recommend this hoodie.

My dog has chronic ear infections, and has had 2 hematomas, one on each ear. He is a semi-large pit-dane (70-80 lbs). He was an ear flapper before hematomas, and remains one after. So, in order for him to not blow out his ears I got this to help hold them down. So a couple of things to note: 1) They will still flap, and some MIGHT try and paw at it, so pay attention to your pet. Flapping with this one, nothing will move if they don’t paw at it incessantly. Its decently tight, and offers ear support. 2) It is soft and stretchy, so easy to get around most dog heads, its almost like a head-sock in that way. 3) Most important one to me: If your dog CURRENTLY has an ear infection, or has had surgery… you WILL need to CLEAN REGULARLY. This device will not dry the inside of your dog’s ears, so covering it up will keep it icky if left with moisture. If its gunky-infection it may be difficult to use this. It will get crusted up easily and youll have to wash it. If you leave it in too long the crush will make it stick to their fur and make it gross as well as uncomfortable to remove later. I would recommend some supervised Air-Dry time several times a day, or a cone instead if its a recent surgery or gunky ear infection.
Now, if your dog does NOT get ear infections, and just is a flapper/ear scratcher this would probably work very well without much worry. Just clean ears regularly, wash this when it gets covered in hair or dander to prevent likelihood of creating an infection using it.
I wouldnt say they are noise cancelling, though maybe noise dampening. Some dogs might find relief from it, some might find discomfort. Depends on the dog.
I can see the use from this product, but it did not work for my purposes unfortunately. No fault of the product I feel, It just did not fit my needs. Just think about it a minute, and be willing to take a loss if its not for your dog.

We use this cover for our frenchie’s ears during bath time and when we go hunting. Our dog’s ears are floppy (they don’t stand upright like normal frenchies) so it’s very comfortable for him to wear. He never tries to take it off. It stops water getting in his ears when we’re bathing him, which is huge because the is prone to ear infections. It dries quickly.
It also offers good noise protection when we’re shooting, he never reacts to the noise when he has this on.

It’s a good distraction and reduces the hard panting when there are noisy storms or on a certain July or January day when there is a lot of sudden, loud noises in the neighborhood. My dog now associates it with ‘we are all going to relax and lounge a little.’ I appreciate the suggestion to keep it with me a few days so it will smell familiar. I have a larger dog who wore it a few times as a model to also prove it is very chic and doesn’t crimp floppy ears. She lets me slip it right on her now and when the noise is over and she’s calmed she comes and asks for it be taken off. The size was perfect (she’s a 57 pound Doberman and the other is 100 pound dobie and it is just a little tighter than what I’d like for him but not uncomfortable); it has good stretch but keeps it’s form. The color was exactly what I expected.

I have three little dogs all under 10 lbs. I purchased three of the XS. Whenever there are fireworks or thunderstorms, they are nervous messes! I saw a great review for this product and decided to try it for the week of the 4th of July. WOW! We put it on our Yorkie and she was snoring within a couple of minutes! For the entire night!!! Unfortunately, it didn’t work on our smallest dog (Chihuahua/Mini Poodle). He is only 7 lbs. and has a fractured lower jaw, so he was not comfortable, but I am SO impressed that two of them we completely calm.

I bought this Happy hoodie & two smaller ones for my cats after watching Girl With The Dogs on YouTube. This has helped immensely with my dog’s anxiety around fireworks. He’s not especially difficult to groom myself, but I like that his hearing is protected from the dryer with this. This size fit the head of my German shepherd x Rottweiler mix who has a great big ol’ noggin. Highly, highly recommend happy hoodies, they’re great to have any time something anxiety inducing is happening to calm down your pets.

I decided to use this to comfort our dog during firework related occasions. I combined it with a thunder shirt. Tried it during this year’s July 4th in America. I believe the happy hoodie drastically helped in comforting her! She did try to take it off at some point but I really believe it helped muffle out the sounds of fireworks/ fire crackers/ gun shots. So I made her keep it on. She wore it for about an hour and it helped her from typically convulsing on an American holiday, only mild shaking involved. Make sure you place it on correctly! My sister knew how to place it on but make sure you follow instructions. Our dog also hates being blow dried after grooming, but she’s a husky, so when she goes in to get groomed they put her in one of those box dryers which works so honestly I’m not even going to try blow drying her with the happy hoodie, just going to stick to towel drying at home. But this worked for our dog and family for the purpose of dampening out loud sounds. Good quality.
