If you have a tuxedo cat you know how insane and difficult to please they can be. Her two favorite toys are from this company (the fish and the bird that tweets and flaps its wings). The fish is soft, which is nice for kitty’s teeth but be careful because the battery is inside and they could chew through easily (making it not the safest but eh). Just be sure to check the fish on a daily basis. I haven’t been able to test its stability yet. The design and shape is realistic. Battery life is good, charging doesn’t take too long. Overall great toy well worth the $13

We have 2 fish toys: an older (Fish 1) that is losing its stuffing after 3 yrs, and this new one (Fish 2). Fish 1 flops hard and fast, with a loud squeaking noise I can easily hear from another room. New Fish 2 is much quieter – can’t be heard unless you’re close by – and flops more softly. Battery life seems about the same with both.
Our cat is a very Omega-type Egyptian Mau – social with people, but non-dominant to other cats. He was an adult stray, and it became obvious to us that dietary deficiencies have limited his vision and caused osteopenia.
The high visibility and quieter ‘flopping’ suits our cat. We have both Fish toys on the rug, but he completely ignores the old Fish and only plays with the new one. I took this photo this morning: he actually curled up to sleep next to it, something he has NEVER done with Fish 1.
There are a lot of fish toys offered, but most are identical to Fish 1 – a realistic gray-black scale pattern. The new Fish 2 is the ONLY one I found with a high-contrast pattern. I have long suspected that our cat couldn’t easily see the first Fish toy on our patterned LR rug, but Fish 2 shows up and he plays with it at least 3 or 4x a day!
If you have an active, high-energy cat, I think Fish 1 would work just fine. But for our cat’s temperament and physical limitations, this new Fish 2 “Potaroma Floppy Fish Cat Toy” has been a better choice.
Good luck with whatever you choose…cats are soooo fussy about the toys they like, LOL!

I, Shiek Best-Lion, have been indulging in the most delightful playtime experience with the Flopping Fish Toy! This marvelous contraption has exceeded my expectations in every way. The durability is simply impressive – I’ve batted it around, pounced on it, and even tried to ‘kill’ it (as one does with prey), but it just won’t quit! The material is sturdy, and the design is cleverly crafted to withstand my enthusiastic play.
But what truly sets this toy apart is its remarkable responsiveness to touch. A gentle swipe of my paw, and the fish flops about, enticing me to chase and pounce. It’s almost as if it’s alive! The battery life is equally impressive – I’ve played with it for hours on end, and it still keeps going. My humans are thrilled that they don’t need to recharge it every five minutes.
Overall, I give the Flopping Fish Toy a resounding five out of five paws! It’s a must-have for any feline seeking entertainment, stimulation, and a healthy dose of fun. Well done, humans – you’ve outdone yourselves this time!

I had one of these months ago that the cats loved, until the dog got to it (she’s a very big dog, and quickly chomped it to pieces). So, for the little cat’s first birthday I got another one. She immediately loved it. Then her big sister also decided she loves it. They fight over it, so I’m buying another. The little cat doesn’t like it when its on (it kind of scares her), but loves to snuggle it and bunny kick it when its not. The big cat LOVES it, on or off, and also snuggles it (when its off).
Genuinely a great toy. Very durable for a cat toy (the two cats did not destroy the last one, and they play rough with it. It’s just not meant for big dogs).

I bought it for our puppy. He really liked playing with it but he chewed the zipper off and was pulling the fish apart so we had to throw it out. Suppose to be 2 in the box but only received 1. Received a refund.

A ninguno de mis tres gatos les gusto. Estuvo muy caro como para que no les gustara. A mis dos perritos tampoco.

I think I like this fish better than my cat!! It’s a good size and flips and flops just as pictured. However, I it doesn’t have enough action for my cat who quickly bored of it. Still, I think it’s a great toy for the right cat.

Should be no more than $9.99. I’ve gone through two of these in the past 6 months. Charging cable doesn’t stay connected and just slips out unless you wrap it around and secure it. The plastic tail flip mechanism has a common fault/failing point. I’ve literally used pieces from the other one to fix this. Where the servo motor connects to the thin tail section, the plastic will literally break. Can’t believe I’m sitting here contemplating buying a third one. The quality of the fish itself is decent but the zipper could use some revamping.

It works as described.

Great fun fishy for my kitten who is very active. He loves to bunny kick it.
I love that the fish doesn’t take batteries and that I can charge it. Charges quickly.
Would recommend to anyone with a cat!

Unfortunately the only thing I can say about this toy fish is that I am hugely disappointed. Firstly, it came in a plastic bag, with no instructions and no way of knowing if the switch was in off or on position. I charged it for about 2 hours, and after flicking the switch back and forth, it eventually moved it’s tail once. That is all the movement it’s given. So now I have wasted my money on a dead (dud) fish that has no interest appeal for my cat.
Happily retired –
It could have just been my experience but the fish did not operate properly. Also it should be noted that I do not believe this would be a good toy for a dog based on the fragility of the “inner battery pack and movement arm”. Any dog that would play with this would destroy the dog in minutes with a little chewing.

The silvervine and catnip in this toy is amazing — my cats were snuggling up to it as soon as I took it out o the package. Great cat toy!
